Rebekah was sitting with Mariposa in her living room. Rebekah had heard of Kol and Mariposa's fight last night, right before Kol fled town. "You said he only cares about himself and will only ever care about himself!" Rebekah told her. "You know that's not true, I know it's not true, everyone knows it's not true. We all know that he fell for you hard, Mariposa, he cares for you!"

"I know!" Mariposa sighed as she ran her hands through her hair.

"Then why'd you say it?" Rebekah asked her.

"Because he wasn't thinking of the consequences of us being together." Mariposa told her. "Consequences for both him and me. I'm the she-devil, if the devil was ever to find out, he'd make sure that I would torture him in Hell after he dies. Not to mention, I couldn't be in a relationship with him if I hate my haywire and over sensitive emotions and feelings and if I get rid of them. That'd be unfair to him."

"You'd definitely be able to over power the devil!" Rebekah told her. "Take a little risk, Mariposa!"

"Last time I took a risk, I was burnt in the middle of my small town!" Mariposa pointed out with a shrug.

"If he's willing to choose love over fear, you should too!" Rebekah told her. "You're his girl, and in all of our eyes, no one else can ever be pictured as his girl and no one else can be pictured as your man." Rebekah sighed. "You belong together!"

"You love him, yes?" She asked.

"Yes!" She replied. "But-"

"And he loves you, right?" She asked.

"I think so!"

"Then what's the problem?" Rebekah asked her.

"The devil!" Mariposa replied bluntly. "Those who are dead shouldn't experience a human life, but I died at the eve of my life, so I obviously want to live a life, and know what it feels like, but he prevents it from happening - for good reason too!"

Rebekah grabbed her hands. "Mariposa, all you need to do is take a risk. Take a jump of faith. That's all!" Rebekah told her and Mariposa sighed defeatedly. "Anyway, do you want to come with me to see the mayor? There's a tree that's capable of killing us Originals. I just want to find out more about it."

Mariposa shrugged. "Sure!" Mariposa said.

"Thank you for meeting with us, mayor. We figured as Head of the Preservation Society, you'd be a good person to ask about the oldest trees in this community." Rebekah said as the two of them sat with the mayor in the Grill.

"A long line of Lockwood women used to keep those records back before any of them had actual jobs." The mayor told the both of them.

"My god, really? The Le Fay's did exactly the same - but in France!" Mariposa smiled sweetly.

"We've been to the founders archive, but we can't seem to find any record of the tree we're looking for!" Rebekah told the mayor as she dismissed the small talk that Mariposa had just joined in with.

"It probably got cut down!" The mayor told them both. "Big old trees built half this town in the 1900s."

"She-Devils, 9 o' clock!" Mariposa heard Damon say as he walked into the Grill with his brother beside him. Damon looked over at them, he smirked at them both before he winked towards Mariposa. Rebekah nudged the woman lightly with a small knowing smirk before they carried on with their discussion about trees.

"Do you happen to know who kept the milling ledgers during that period?" Rebekah asked.

"Back then all the logging mills were owned by the Salvatores." The mayor informed them.
