A diffrent Point Of View

Avery POV

"Stop it Karl!" Jasmine scolded as we all squished together to get a picture together. Dylan and Josh pretended to not notice how Logan and Karl were basically pressed against one another.

Watching Jasmine get upset with those two made it hard for me not to laugh.

After the picture was taken she bumped her hip against Logan. "That's for being an ass." She would say. Not like he would complain.

I on the other hand lead us four away from the new couple. I love my friends but this is Dylan's first boyfriend since her flings with Lucas. I'm happy to see her smiling.

"We are all happy for her Ave," Logan said wrapping his arm around Jasmine's waist. "But I thought we were all hanging out."

"We are." Jasmine said with a reassuring smile. She looked over her shoulder at the two who were acting like complete dorks.

Josh has his legs between a bench's arm rest while Dylan was upside down, her legs resting on top of the bench. Thank Goodness it is snow season because otherwise Dylan would be getting a lecture from the usual elderly couple that walked the park around this time.

Jasmine turned back to the conversation. "It's just new love. Give them time."

Logan rolled his eyes. "I agree." I said with a shrug. Karl bit his lip. "I get it too."

Logan sighed. "Same."

It did take sometime for us all to hang out together as couples plus Dylan and sometimes Roddi. Love needs time away from drama. And that's exactly what we were giving them.

Maya's POV

"Vanilla or Strawberry?" Farkle asked as Val stood at the counter.

"Surprise me." Val nodded and headed to the back to get our ice creams.

Farkle turned his body towards mine and laid his head against his hand. "What's up with you?"

I rolled my eyes. Why does everyone think there's something wrong with me. There's nothing wrong.

"Shawn's been kinda distance this past few weeks." I mumble running my hands through my messy hair. It's pretty windy out today.

"Distant like how?" Farkle asked as Val placed two bowls of Vanilla ice cream in front of us.

Good question.

My step dad and I have always been close. We come from similar backgrounds. But we grew up with people who care for us. We have always been honest with one another.

So when I asked him about he thought Dylan had meant when she said I had the only thing she's really wanted. Dad never had an answer. It was as if he was trying to put the pieces together himself.

"Dylan and Josh met up at Riley's during family night a couple weeks ago,"

Farkle patted my back. He knew how I felt about Joshua Matthews. Hell, I'm in love with him. I broke up with Lucas because of him. Somehow, she beat me to him.

I sighed, "She said I have the only thing she's really wanted. Dad's been distant since." I explained. How does she have that effect on guys in my life?

When Lucas and I ended it, he admitted to being in love with someone else as well. I knew it was her. Lately I feel like I've been eating my words watching him sleaze around with Missy.

"Maybe she meant Lucas." Farkle suggested with a mouthful of Vanilla.

I shake my head. "She wouldn't have been with Josh."

Farkle sat his spoon down. "Why do you hate her so much?"

Well.. didn't expect him to say that. I.. I guess I don't hate her. I don't not like her. When I first met her I was jealous because she got along with Riley and Lucas so well. Knowing she grew up with Lucas made it a bit worse..

Now, it's a sarcastic comment here or there, but I don't hate her. Do I wish I hade her spirit? Yes. Do I wish I had her boyfriend? Yeah.. Can I tell by the way she smiles that she's just like me in a way? Maybe..

Riley's POV

"Wow, so Smackle and Sarah?" Zay said looking at our classmates Twitter pages. Sarah had uploaded a photo of herself giving Smackle a kiss on the cheek. So cute!

"Seems too good to be true huh?" I say with a smile. Zay nods as Lucas texts away on his phone.

I shoot Zay a nod towards Lucas and he puts his hand over the phone. "Hey!" Lucas snapped.

"We are suppose to be spending time together." Zay said.

"Not texting the babes." I retorted.

Lucas sighed and tossed his phone on my pillow. We were all seated around my lap top with my bedroom door open. As always.

"What's on your mind?" I asked. Lucas hasn't been himself lately. Since he and Maya broke up, he's been a complete.. what's the word.. sleaze?

"Nothing really. Dylan and I haven't talked since that day at lunch almost a month ago." Lucas said letting out a long sigh.

"She's with that Josh guy now, Riley's uncle." Zay said laying back on his back.

Lucas winced and shrugged. "She can date whoever she wants."

I can tell the news upsets him. After all we did have a little thing back in middle school. His eyes avoid contact and his shoulders slouch. Guilt and Regret is written all over his face.

Zay coughs to break the silence. "Uh, new subject.."

Before I could speak, Lucas's phone rang and he got up to answer it. Zay and I started a new series on Netflix while we waited for him to get back.

When he finally returned, it was only to tell us that he was off to meet Missy at some get together. So much for hanging out..
