I rolled over in bed uncomfortably. It was nearly eight am on a Saturday and the birds did not stop chirping. Times like this I wish I was still at Mom's. Just as I was sitting up to stretch Josh peaked his head into the room.

"I made turkey bacon." He said with a smile. I smiled back as he walked across the room to help me up.

"I also got your therapy equipment set up."

I kissed his cheek and wrapped my hands around his waist carefully. "Aren't you just the sweetest?"

Although I told Josh he was on probation I agreed to reschedule a family dinner with Corey, since I missed the first. The walk to Corey's was not very pleasant..

"I told you I don't think she's coming. Riley hasn't spoken to me about it."

Silence.

"Please can we talk about something else?"

"Will Amy and Alan be there?"

He shrugged. "They don't visit us much. We usually visit them."

"How.. sweet."

-𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗹 𝟭𝟮, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟬-

"Lydia.. do you want me to take you home..?"

I shook my head no. As much as I want to.. I can't. Josh and I are still healing and Mom as much as it pained her, she thought we should just spend the month together. That was until they issued a Stay at home order.

Josh sat down on the couch next to me wiping my tears away with a tissue. I laid my head on his shoulder.

"Don't worry.. you'll see her again soon."

I glanced up at him and I could see the worry in his eyes.

How sweet..

I winced as I worked on my wrist exercises. Josh was watching the news on the couch. We spent a majority of these few months getting over our fight and my accident. Neither one of us have heard from Maya. Dad said he knows what has happened but she has refused to talk to him about it. Only to Katy.

"Okay," I said as strapped on my wrist brace. "I'm all done." I got up from the table and made my way to the living room.

Josh glanced over at me from the couch. "How's the wrist?"

I sat down on the couch and laid my head in his lap. "It's... healing."

I felt him lean down and kiss the top of my head. "Good."

We watch the news and I sat up once I heard another thing I didn't want to hear. Day by day it's the same thing. Basically.. don't leave the house because it's too dangerous.

Josh began to play with my hair and I began to text Roddi. Mom is due in June and I just want to make sure she's healthy.

Roddi messages back saying he would call before dinner since she's been staying in bed most days.

"Don't cry again Bunny.." Josh mumbled.

Yes, I have been crying. A lot. He doesn't blame me though. I miss my mother.

I curled up next to him on the couch. When I woke up Josh was typing away at his computer. I could tell online classes were kicking his ass. I rubbed my eyes and stretched.

When I walked into the kitchen Josh let out a frustrated sigh. "I wish I didn't have to do this bullshit."

I stood behind him and looked at his screen. Stupid assignments that he has to do since we can't leave. I rolled my eyes and kissed his cheek.

"Just leave it."

He looked up at me. "You know I can't."

I kissed his cheek again.

"Dylan.." He remained focused on his laptop screen as he hit submit.

My lips kissed down his cheek, neck and to his shoulder. I heard the laptop close and I smile came to my face.

I straightened up and stood beside him.

Josh turned his body and wrapped his hands around my waist.

"Any guy would be lucky to have a girlfriend as sweet as you.. what did I ever do to deserve you?"

I sighed and I sat down in his lap and laid my head on his chest while he played with my hair.

We sat in silence.

Finally I looked up at him and he looked down at me with pain in his eyes. "You never stopped caring, so why should I stop loving you Joshua Matthews?"

I saw something that should be more socially acceptable. A tear slide down his cheek and he buried his face in my neck. I think that was what we needed to be us again.

Joshua Matthews and Dylan "Lydia" A-M.
Or better known to each other as Honey Bear and Bunny. ❤︎
