Two Weeks Later

"Nope."

"Jenny Fisher."

"Nope."

"Lee Won Seok."

"Nope."

"The cute girl who always wears barrettes in Biology 101."

"Nope."

"Awww, c'mon, Y/N. Give me something!" Jungkook whined, tossing the couch pillow at her and pouting.

"Why?" Y/N didn't even look up when the pillow hit her head and bounced off.

"I haven't fucked in two days."

"I did not need to know that."

"I want someone without the drama."

"That's why I just said no to everyone you listed."

"Won Seok's a guy."

"And the fact that you believe that because he's a man that somehow exempts him from causing drama just shows how integral I am to your sex life."

"Stop using big English words." Jungkook groaned. "You know I don't understand them."

"You would if you fucked less and studied more."

"Guys cause less drama." Jungkook muttered under his breath, just to be difficult.

"Jungkook. Didn't you take history last semester?"

"Um....yes...."

"So do please tell me how many wars in Korea were started by women." Jungkook blanked and Y/N finally looked up.

"I know you know the material because I made sure you did. I'm waiting."

"I don't remember women starting any." He finally admitted. Y/N didn't say anything, just let her point sit.

She was close to finishing her outline and knew it could be done at Yoongi's house so she was attending this week's get together. Jungkook had been the first to arrive and therefore the first one to attempt to get on her nerves. Yoongi had actually been studying, he was graduating at the end of the semester and was eager to once and for all be done with his studies. But when Jungkook arrived he had retreated somewhere else in his flat since he could tell his dongsaeng was in a mood and he didn't feel like dealing with it.

He didn't come back out until Jimin arrived.

"Almost done?" Jimin's chin rested on the top of her head as he looked down at her screen.

"Yes, finally." Jimin skimmed it before shaking his head.

"I don't even know how to process what that means. And Korean's my native language." He closed his eyes, using Y/N for a pillow until Jungkook, who had snuck up behind him, poked him in the ribs and the flat became filled with the sounds of desperate scrambling as Jimin tried to exact his revenge. Yoongi snickered but did nothing to intervene.

"You break it, you bought it!" He yelled.

And thus commenced a normal evening at a Bangtan Seven member's house. This was their time to kick back, relax, and watch a movie or play a game and get drunk. They cheered when Y/N finally submitted her outline and toasted. They tried playing Uno but they spent so much time accusing each other of cheating that the game didn't really get played.

This was when Y/N joined Yoongi outside on his balcony, the noise level finally getting to her. She plopped into one of the patio chairs next to him. The one thing she appreciated about Yoongi was how they could both be in the same room, not speak to each other, and be completely fine. Companionable silence. Y/N closed her eyes, the alcohol hitting her bloodstream. It always made her sleepy.

"Yah, it's your place, why aren't you inside?" Jin playfully smacked Yoongi over the head with a beer can. Yoongi scrunched his nose in annoyance and swatted at him.

"Because I want to keep my hearing and Hoseok doesn't have a volume down button." Yoongi muttered. Y/N chuckled slightly but didn't comment. When Jin finally convinced Yoongi to come back inside she didn't join them, letting her thoughts wander.

The drunker they got, the more the boys forgot about her sitting outside. Or so she thought. She obviously didn't see Taehyung ask if they should join her outside or Yoongi tell him she was napping and to not bother the poor woman who had been slacking on sleep to get her outline done.

To her this was a transactional relationship. How could she view it as anything other than that? The boys couldn't hide from her and she knew how shallow and vapid their social circles and interactions tended to be. She did believe they were good deep down, otherwise they wouldn't do things like make sure they got consent before their sexual activities. But honestly she didn't have high expectations for their loyalty and friendship. There was always a wall. She was intriguing. She was unusual. She benefited them. She didn't kid herself and believe it was anything more than that.

The boys knew each other inside and out, having grown up together. But if they took a second to think about it, they really didn't know that much about Y/N. She was under no illusions, if she bared her soul she couldn't be surprised if it was trampled and crushed. That's just how it worked in this world. So there was a wall. And as far as she was concerned that's how it should be. It worked for her and she assumed it worked for them.

She assumed.

Y/N jolted awake, sitting up straight, the lights of Seoul keeping the sky from ever fully becoming black in the night. The boys were still inside, their noise reaching new levels as they became more drunk.

She should head home, it was pretty late for her.

"So soon?" Taehyung pouted when she came back inside. Jimin stumbled towards her and grabbed her arm.

"Don't leave!"

"I'll see you guys tomorrow." She said firmly, reaching for her phone. The boys lost interest, instantly going back to their new game. Except for one.

That one's eyes had lingered a second longer than the others. That one's eyes saw her pick up her phone. That one's eyes saw the frown and brief look of panic that crossed her face before it smoothed over and her jaw tightened. That one noticed it but didn't think too much of it. Right then.
