Namjoon began to hope that when his man went after the people who had reshared Y/N's nudes that maybe Mordecai had been one of the people who suffered and had finally learned his lesson. Because there was absolute silence. So, despite Hoseok's protestations, he backed Y/N up when she insisted on moving back to her apartment.
"I don't see why you can't just stay here." Hoseok moped, leaning with his arms crossed against the wall as Y/N packed.
"We've only been together for three weeks. It'll just create an unhealthy strain on the relationship."
Y/N said practically, rolling her eyes at how childish Hoseok was being. "We're together almost all the time anyway, you won't notice a difference."
"Yes, I will." He said, just to be ornery. Y/N glared at him so he tried a different tact. "If you stay here then we don't have to meet up at the studio to practice for the performance..."
"It'll be just fine. Stop whining." Despite her firmness, Y/N did find his whining kind of cute. She hadn't realized Hoseok would be so....clingy, but a part of her really enjoyed it. In his own way, she knew he was just trying to make her feel safe and desired and she appreciated it.
But Hoseok had also gotten touchier and she was worried that being at his place would result in them going further than she was ready for and lead to regrets on both sides. He hadn't crossed all his lines but she could easily see them drinking too much wine and....yeah.
It was important to her to maintain a separate identity from him. She'd learned her lesson last time. And besides, he was allowing himself to be too distracted. With the upcoming performance and Hoseok's finals, he really needed to focus. A little space should do that.
Hoseok helped her carry her stuff up the stairs and deposit it in the living room. The apartment seemed dead and her shelves had already acquired a thin layer of dust. She went to use the bathroom and he looked around before his eyes fell to the corner of the living room.
It was still there.
She hadn't touched it, even when she'd come back the first time. He looked back over to the bathroom door before picking both items up and hiding them under his jacket. They needed to hang on to them, they might come in handy later. But that didn't mean she had to be around them. He had a feeling that the book meant more to her than she'd still said, there was a reason Mordecai had picked that particular book.

Hoseok was exhausted as he exited the testing center. He felt like his brain was numb. That was his last final of the semester but he didn't have the energy to celebrate. What he wanted was a good night's rest. Perhaps this might excuse why he didn't see Y/N standing in front of him until she waved her hand in front of his face.
Despite his tiredness, his face instantly lit up in a smile.
"Did you come to comfort me after failing?" She playfully punched his shoulder and he pretended to rub it like it actually hurt.
"You don't know if you failed yet, don't give anything any ideas." He was still smiling as he took her hand. Right. It felt right.
"Are you going to come home with me?"
"No." His face fell and she almost felt bad for not continuing the sentence and playing him. Almost. "We're not going home."
"Oh?" She's said 'we' so he bit back his disappointment. All he wanted was to go home and either sleep or sit next to her and watch a movie. Maybe even cuddle.
"C'mon..." She tugged his hand and he sighed.
"Y/N...I'm really tired...."
"C'mon." She said firmly. He felt a little annoyed. Was what she had to do, what she was dragging him to, really that important? He grew more irritated as she dragged him out of the building, towards the campus coffee shop.
"Y/N." He stopped her and wiggled his fingers out of her grip. "Y/N, I'm tired. I'm going home." Normally he would've gone along with whatever she wanted but....he was so tired...
"Hobi..."
"Are you coming?" He felt a little guilty at the hurt look that flashed across her face but his sleepiness overwhelmed that. She shook her head and he nodded slightly before turning and walking away from her.
Not realizing what he'd just done.
Y/N had had a surprise.
She knew it bothered Hoseok that he hadn't officially taken her on a date yet. She knew how hard he'd been studying. She'd wanted to give him a chance to relax, a chance to ask her questions. She'd thought he'd appreciate not having to worry about it, having it taken care of for him. He had taken care of her, it was her turn to take care of him.
So it hurt.
But she tried to remind herself that it wasn't about her. Her whole focus had been on him and if she got upset and ignored how tired he apparently was then....well then it really hadn't been about him. But it still hurt. In a way....it felt like rejection. And it made her feel vulnerable, like she'd overstepped her bounds.
