Hoseok searched for Taehyung and Y/N on the dance floor but didn't see them. At first. Finally he saw Taehyung.

"Where is she?" Taehyung sighed and ran his hand over his face

"As soon as you guys headed towards the door she bolted. I tried to stop her but..." He shrugged. "You know how she is."

"Did she say where she was going?"

"I'm guessing home." Hoseok cursed. The man was outside and Y/N had walked here. The man may have been forced to leave but he doubted he had fully backed down.

When Hoseok exited the front of the house he already saw her headed out the front gate onto the sidewalk. He called her name but she didn't stop and he cursed again, gesturing to the valet to bring his car around quickly. That guy, Mordecai, wasn't around anymore. Or at least Hoseok didn't see him.

Despite being on foot, Y/N was a fast walker, even in heels. Hoseok pulled up beside her and honked but she ignored him, face set, determinedly moving forward. God, Y/N. He knew she was stubborn but right now was not the time. He parked the car next to the sidewalk and jumped out, running after her and grabbing her arm, only to duck as she turned and a fist flew towards his face. His hand came up and he grabbed her wrist.

"Y/N, it's me!" His tone was irritated but turned softer when he saw the tears running down her cheeks. She sniffled and wrenched her hand out of his grasp, quickly wiping at her tears before trying to step back and away from him. But he was still holding onto her arm. "Oh no you don't, girly. I am not letting you walk home with that maniac walk around. Get in the damn car before I make you." He said seriously and Y/N stopped, turning to look at him with a hesitant look on her face.

"You...don't think I'm crazy...?" Hoseok blinked.
"Why on earth would I think you're crazy? Get in the car." She didn't exactly comply but she didn't fight Hoseok as he gently led her to the passenger side and opened the door for her. He took the turn to her home but....

"Drop me off near the Jamsil subway."

"Wha...."

"I haven't been home in a couple days." She admitted quietly, looking down at her hands. Hoseok looked at her, brain processing, and suddenly everything made sense. Whoever this guy was, he was responsible for her change in behavior the last couple weeks. "I'm staying at a hostel." That was almost a whisper.

As always, traffic was bad so Hoseok parked a little distance away and insisted on walking her to the door, up the stairs, and her opening the door so he could check inside her room before he relented and would leave.

"Y/N." He asked quietly as she stepped into the room. "Who was that?"

"No one, I'll take care of it. He won't bother you guys again. I'm sorry you had to deal with it." Her voice was really quiet and he sighed before leaning over and enveloping her in a hug.

"I'm not leaving until you tell me so just stop it already. Save us both the energy." She stiffened when he touched her, which surprised him. Whoever this guy was, whatever was going on, it was really affecting her.

"It's fine, Hobi. Really. Don't worry about it." She pushed him off and closed the door firmly, not allowing anymore protests.
