Amy's pov

"Please get some sleep," I said to my husband as I got ready for work.

"I will, but I need to get the kids to school first."

"I wish you didn't take that second shift last night. You need to get some rest. What if you stay home and have the kids stay home as well today?"

He wrapped his arms around me holding into me, "I am not going to let them miss school, I will be fine driving and when I come back I will crash into bed and get some sleep. I am off tonight so I will be able to get more sleep." He kissed the side of my face.

"Momma! I forgot to do my math homework." Our youngest said walking into the kitchen.

"Did you forget or did you just not want to do it."

She let out a little giggle then ran up the steps.

"I will help her with it as she eats," Mark said.

"You are so tired. Please don't stress yourself out."

"She is in 1st grade. How hard can the math be?"

I turned around facing him, "I need to go to work, I will see you when I come home. If you want I can get the kids today from school and then we can go pick dinner up?"

"I might take you up on that."

I rested my head on his chest.

"I don't want to leave," I said softly.

"You can take a day off, just the two of us at home alone. We haven't had that in a long time."

"That sounds so nice but I have a huge meeting today that will hopefully get more funding for us. It's so hard to save lives with no money in the budget."

"I can't wait to hear all about it when you get home. If they don't approve more money then they are crazy."

"Well, it is health care, so it is going to be a struggle to get them to open up their wallets."

"Yeah, but if anyone can do it I know it will be you." He covered my face in kisses.

"Can you two not, it's too early." Our oldest said walking in.

"When you find someone who you love you will see just how hard it is to keep your hands off of them," Mark said then pulled me in for another kiss.

"I am going to be late for work," I said.

"Go, I will see you after work. I love you so much." Mark said letting me go.

I gave our son a hug and a kiss goodbye then got my coffee and headed to work.

"Dr. Nelson, how are you?" Dr. Winter said was I walked in.

"Hello, I am good, busy morning."

"I am excited about  our meeting, this is a chance for us to make a difference in the medical field!'

"I know, but I  am so nervous. What if I mess up and they say no?"

"Then we just try again."

"You sound just like my husband." I laughed.

"Good, then I know that I am right." She smiled.

"I need to go put my stuff away, I will see you on the floor."

After all of my stuff was put away I got the first case folder from the nurse's station looking through it. A 10-year-old boy fell and broke his leg, I walked to his room.

"Knock, knock." I peeked in.

"Finally, what took you so long?" The mother asked.

"Good morning, my name is Doctor Nelson, I am so sorry about the wait I just walked into the building. Thank you for being patient with us. Tommy, I just looked at your chart and saw that you broke your leg. What happened?"
