Mark's pov

"I need to see your badge and ID." The lady at the desk said stopping me as I tried to enter the baby unit.

"Oh, sorry." I pulled my ID out of my pocket. "I don't have a badge, they told me this is what I needed to get in to see my wife and child." I showed her the pink bracelet on my arm that read Father in blue marker.

"Yep." She typed something on her computer taking way to long. "Do you know what room?"

"2307."

She nodded her head yes as she kept typing.

"Here, once you hear the click open the door." She said handing me my ID back.

"Thanks."

After a few seconds, the door clicked open letting me in. I walked in heading toward my wife and child. The stupid nurse up front didn't let me in the back when they rushed her in here, I had to wait in the lobby while my child was born. Amy was so scared of being by herself. I have their information, they will be getting a very heavy worded complaint on them from me.

I found their room no problem, when I knocked on the door, Amy was laying in the bed watching our child sleep.

"Hey," I said softly as I kissed the top of her head.

She latched on to me pulling me to sit next to her on the bed.

"I'm here honey," I said as she snuggled into me.

"I'm sleepy." She said.

"You just pushed a baby out of you three days ago, of course, your sore." I chuckled watching our son wiggle in his bassinet.

"He was just changed." She said.

"He is probably sleepy as well."

"Don't leave again."

"I'm here, I had to go get the car seat from the house. That way when we can go home it's already in the car. I also got a change of clothes for both of you. They are in a duffel bag in the trunk."

"Thank you."

Her brown eyes looked exhausted, you can tell she is sore from how she is laying.

"Do you need more ice packs?" I asked her.

She didn't answer, I looked down to see her fast asleep in my arms. I kissed the top of her head.

"Sweet dreams," I said softly to her.

I laid there with her in my arms sleeping for a few hours, she would have slept longer but a nurse came in and woke her up.

"You need to eat." She said as Amy's eyes slowly opened.

"I'm not hungry, I'm tired and sore."

"Baby, you need to eat to keep your strength up," I said.

"Eat with me."

"Of course."

We ordered a few pieces of grilled chicken and some apple sauce. She needs soft things to eat. I helped her drink some ginger ail then she took a piece of grilled chicken.

"How do you feel?" I asked her.

"Sore, but food does taste good." She gave me a weak smile.

"I love you so much." I took her hand and kissed it making her smile.

"I love you too, thank you for taking care of me."

"No thanks are needed, but you need to rest."
