Hey guys sorry for a slow update... here is Chapter 8 hope you enjoy. Don't forget to vote and comment. ❤📖

Love Milo....Fucking LOVE Milo. Did he mean to put that? Is he drunk? What the fuck! He isn't coming back! No explanation of why he left just he isn't coming back! I don't know how to feel, I have only known the man two minutes and i already miss him but at the same time I’m so annoyed he left like this.

“What’s up babe? You look like you’ve seen a ghost?” For a second I actually forgot Steph was there! She pushes her pasta round her plate and is shaking the last few drops from her wine glass into her mouth.

“Urm...I don't....urm....Its Milo..he...." I go back to my phone screen. My head hurts!

“Ah yeah...what’s he asking you to come upstairs for a bedtime story?” She's still shaking her wine glass in the air as I look up again.

Seriously Steph, there’s no more wine in the glass. I love the girl but I told her not five minutes ago that he had already left. Just how many drinks has she had today?

“Ugh no...look...look at this text!” I pass my phone to her. She looks at the text then at me, she has a dazed confused look on her face probably much the same as mine right now.

“What does he mean he’s not coming back?” She passes the phone back to me.

“I have no idea Steph. I really can't be bothered with it anymore. He left without a goodbye and now he sends this. I am done” I stand up to clear my plate, I’ve suddenly lost my appetite.

“You need to ring him girl!”

“Steph I have known him for like thirty six hours, I realised something after he left this morning, I don't need him and I was obsessing...”She cuts me off before I can finish.

Obsessing?!?” She shrieks at me.

“No not obsessing just, I did like him quite a lot. There was something about you know? But, at the end of the day he's just a person and look he's not coming back then that’s it”

“Well girl, it is absolutely crazy that you haven’t known him long and you feel like this. It must have been pretty serious. I’ve never seen you like this before...any way” She yawns “I’m going to bed girl”

I really don’t want to be left alone with my thoughts and I’m half tempted to let Steph take my phone to bed with her so i don’t end up texting or calling him.

“Goodnight babe” I give her a quick hug as she glides past me. I clean up the kitchen, looking at the leftover spaghetti and sauce. Shit! I was so distracted by Milos text I forgot to tell the others about the food....and right on cue the kitchen door flings open and Graham, Dan and Luke all breeze in.

The boys all help themselves to big plates of pasta, I sit and chat to them for an hour. Dan’s worried about Liz having to get braces. Luke has a meeting with a potential music manager and Graham...well I don’t really know what Graham’s talking about. To be honest I never really do... just as they start talking about Football, I take this as my cue to leave. I make myself a cup of tea and climb the stairs. It seems like it’s been a really long day and its only 9pm.

I have a quick shower and change into my pyjamas, I check my emails, nothing important and no more texts from Milo. I force myself to fall asleep quickly just so I don’t text or call him. I dream of beautiful green eyes and Scottish accents.

Days go by and just as life goes on and soon enough the days turn into weeks and the weeks into months and before I know it, it’s been just over a year since I last heard from him.

He rang me once, about 3 months ago but I couldn’t understand a word he was saying, he sounded drunk and this just annoyed me more so i never bothered to phone back the next morning and neither did he. I’m not going to say i never thought about him but I would be pretty strange if he was all I could think about. A lot can change in a year.

Firstly Luke decided to stay, like I said no one ever stayed long who stayed in that room so when Luke met Sarah, fell in love and now their expecting a baby, he obviously decided it would be best to stay. Sarah's lovely with long beautiful, black hair and covered in tattoos like me. She has a snow white kind of look going on. We got on really well and when she asked my new estate agent Belle if she could move in too while they saved for their own house, I was more than happy to oblige.

So speaking of Belle, she came to work at my publishing company first, she started as a receptionist and worked her way up over the last year to become my personal assistant, she’d been doing such a good job I decided to move her over to the estate agents to see how she would get on. She's been brilliant so far!

Steph....Steph is still Steph but now she has a boyfriend and a girlfriend! Adam and Stacy had been married for 7 years before they spotted Steph working in the bar one night and it was actually Stacy that suggested it. At first it was just a bit of fun, but seven months later their all still going strong! Good for them!

Graham hadn’t changed at all in the last year expect we see him a bit more often, he’s become really close to Dan, speaking of which he has been seeing Jenna again and as far as I know, they’ve been happy for the last couple of months. He still lives with us so we still get to see Liz and Jenna is here a lot now too. They decided ti give their marriage another go before the divorce was finalised.

Finally, that leaves me. Nothing has really changed much for me over the past year, weirdly my ex Kyle had planned this night out with the gang for my birthday. We had been meeting up a lot through out the last year but nothing much was happening there right now.

My publishing company has branched out so I have an office in London too! My life has just been slowly crawling by. Nothing much has changed over the last year, but it was about too!

Steph, Adam, Luke, Dan and Kyle have decided to celebrate the fact that I am turning 27, which I begged them not to make a big deal about it, so they have decided that we will have a night out....in the same town...like we do every weekend....in the same places...with the same people. Okay so it might sound like I’m complaining...because I am but even though I didn’t want a big fuss I was hoping we could go somewhere different for once. I can't complain to much though because they did decorate the house with balloons and banners and they did get me a cake! A white chocolate cupcake tower....my favourite!

I’ve bought myself a new dress, a red backless number that clings onto my curves in all the right places. New white heels and my hair is expertly curled by Steph, who is wearing high waisted jeans, a white crop top and white trainers.

After we are all ready and we have had cake and shots at the house were finally ready to hit the town, we get a taxi in and as we arrive at the first pub, I realise I’ve forgotten to pick up my bank card from my purse, I tell the others to stay in the bar and I wouldn’t be long, the taxi swings back round and heads back to the house.

As I push my key through the lock and open the door, the atmosphere doesn’t feel right. The house was empty when we left. Stacy was at her friends house, Graham was out with his friends and everyone else was out with me. I push the feeling to the back of mind and grab my purse from the kitchen counter, I find my card quickly and shove it into my clutch bag.

I’d completely forgotten about the uneasy feeling until I reached the front door and looked up the stairs to my right, I wouldn’t have thought anymore of it expect the was a subtle light coming from somewhere upstairs that caught my eye, I always make sure all the lights are off whenever we all leave expect for the hall light. I close the front door again softly and stare up the stairs for what feels like ages before my phone goes off in my bag! SHIT!

I nearly drop my whole bag. Shhh! I’m shhhing my bag, I knew I’d had too much drink already! I scramble in my bag and pull my phone out.

Steph, I’m on my way back now, I’ve got the taxi outside, I’ll be two minutes” I can hear she’s had a few drinks too. Hopefully they’ve stayed in the same place, although it wont take me long to find them in this small town! I hang up the phone and shove it back into my bag. I forget about the light, one of us must have left it on in a hurry to leave earlier. I reach the front door again and I almost don’t hear the faint click of a light switch upstairs.

Almost!
