Chapter 33. Fingers crossed my phone has finally been charging properly again. Sorry for slow updates, I've had a cold boooo. I'm so thankful for all the views and votes as always. I hope you're enjoying it as much as I am 📖❤
Kyle! My heart drops. Surely they can't mean Kyle, Kyle. No just a coincidence surely. He has moved away from Pembrokeshire though. No it cant be. Why would he want to do that to me. My head is spinning. Someone gave me cocaine and I didn’t even know. I have never taken drugs in my life. After I woke up, the doctor came into see me, he explained that my body had a serve reaction to either the cocaine or sleeping tablets but they weren’t sure which until they do further tests. I have to stay here for another night. Jay has stayed with me the entire time apart from getting me clean clothes and some food, he got me seven different sandwiches, 7 different drinks and seven different snacks.
“I didn’t know what you liked so I just got it all" He shrugs as he places all the food on the side table.
“Thank you. I’ll probably just eat them all” I smile shyly at him. I need to know more about Kyle and what happened to me just as I’m about to ask Jay, who has perched himself on the edge of my bed, there is a knock at the door and the detective that came to the hotel enters.
“Nice to see you awake Miss Oliver. I understand you must still be in shock and you have just gained consciousness but I’m afraid I need to ask you a few questions and I’m sure you have some for me. Could we have a moment alone?” He motions towards to Jay.
“Of course detective” Jay rises from the bed and gives me a kiss on the forehead, which I wasn't expecting. “I’ll be right outside if you need me okay?”
“Okay. Thank you Jay. For everything"
After he leaves the room the detective pulls a chair from the corner to sit beside my bed. I pull myself and my pillows so I’m more upright. I’m preparing to hear what I already feel like I know.
“How are you feeling Miss Oliver?”
“I feel a bit groggy and I have a headache but apart from that I’m just more shocked. Detective, Jay....Mr Haverford, said someone had been arrested?”
“Yes Miss Oliver” He reaches into his bag and pulls out a brown manila envelope. He pulls the paper from inside and sets it down on the table running over my lap. I stare down at the paper and paper clipped to the front confirmed my worst fear. Kyle’s piercing green eyes were staring back at me. No coincidence here. As soon as Jay said a man named Kyle had been arrested I knew it had to be the same one but why! Okay so I punched him but is that a reason to drug someone? He was cheating on me!! “Do you recognise this man?” The detective brings me out of my thoughts.
“Yes, he’s my ex Boyfriend Kyle Grey"
“Do you have any idea why Mr Grey would have wanted to hurt you?”
I recite to the detective exactly what happened between Kyle, Milo and myself.“Are you sure there’s nothing else that would make Mr Grey do this to you?”
“No detective, I really have no idea. Has he said anything?”
“No he wont talk. Well...he said he will only talk to you. I know it’s very unethical Miss Oliver and we wouldn’t normally ask but as it’s only you he will talk to you....”
“Its fine Detective, I would like to come in and do it. I want to know just as much as you"
“Thank you Miss Oliver. It’s so important. We know, it was an exact mirror of all the recent crimes here, i want to know if he was involved and if he is it could be a really big breakthrough for us. I will leave this paperwork here and I will be in touch to make a time for you to come in. Is that okay?”
