Chapter 44. Sorry it’s been a little while updating, I became a judge and partner for Book Of Clubs, check them out and follow guys. I'm so excited about it. I've had so much going on. But as always thank you everyone for voting and reading, it means so much ❤📖

As I rush up to the house, the sound of my trainers slapping against the pavement, matches the beat of my heart. Which feels like it’s in my ears right now. Jay is here and I should be so happy, instead I’m panicking because here's me sitting in the car and cafe’s having the time of my life with Milo, begging him to kiss me. When I have a man who loves me waiting for me.

I’ve never felt so bad in all my life. I wasn’t thinking about Jay when I was asking Milo to kiss me, Jay would never do this to me. I actually feel sick.

“Ali?”. Milo's voice booms behind me, I can hear him running up the path behind me, I ignore him and rush straight through the front door.

I burst through the living room door.

“Hey" I try to make my voice sound as effortless as possible even though I can barely breath. Milo will be crashing right through the very same door any minute now. Jay is sitting between Steph and Dan. He looks so good and didn’t realise just how much I missed him until now.

He looks relaxed and carefree, he’s wearing a suit as usual but his jacket is hung up on the door and he’s rolled the sleeves of his powder blue shirt. Colson is climbing all over him, while Loweri is sitting on the floor colouring. Jay stands swooping Colson up with him, who thinks Jay is hilarious.

Why am I such an idiot? Look at this man. Not only is he handsome but he’s great with kids, he’s everything a girl could ever ask for and not 20 minutes ago, I was about to cheat on him. I'm such an arsehole.

Milo walks through the door, just as breathless as me. Steph gives me the ‘What the fuck is going on?’ look and I return it with a ‘later, I promise’.

“Urm Ali can I talk to you a minute?”. No Milo. No you cant.

Milo stares at me with a nervous look. Has he even noticed that Jay is next to me or does he just not care? Is he planning on telling Jay what happened? Well, what nearly happened.

Jay, I think sensing something is up, puts Colson down and wraps one arm round my waist and extends the other out to Milo, who’s eyes are still locked onto me.

“Hi I’m James, Ali's fiancé” His tanned muscular arm stays out and it’s almost uncomfortable to watch, Milo takes an absolute age before he tears his eyes away from me and gives Jay a small smile, takes his outstretched hand and shakes it briefly.

“Milo. Nice to meet you. I’m sure Ali has told you all about me". Jay side eyes me in complete confusion while both men drop their hands. Jay’s grip round my waist tightens slightly. This is so awkward. I’ve never been so panicked and sweaty in my life.

“Urm...no. I’m sorry, no she hasn’t mentioned you. Do you live here too?”.

“Yeah, I moved her about two years ago when my daughter came to live with me permanently”. Milo gestures to Loweri who hasn’t looked up from her colouring.

“Is that a Scottish accent I detect?”.

“Yeah that’s where I’m from. So how did you two meet?”. Milo squares up his shoulders and crosses his arms, I’ve seen him do this before. He’s intimidated. Jay doesn’t reciprocate, which makes me proud of him. He’s not bothered by Milo and he’s showing it and its killing Milo.

Milo probably assumes I ran straight to Jay and told him everything Milo had done. Truth be told Jay doesn’t need to show he’s intimated by Milo, because Jay doesn’t know anything about him.
