Chapter 37. I couldn't resist doing another chapter. I'm so invested in this story 🤣 I couldn't help myself writing another one. I feel like the story is getting so lovely now. Anyways keep voting guys, it means so much ❤📖

I take a deep breath and open the front door. What I see absolutely makes me melt.

Jay is standing in a sleek black tux next to a sleek black car. He is takes my breath away. He looks so handsome. His charming smile lights up the night. I grab my clutch bag from the side table and head outside.

“You look so beautiful Ali. I’ve never seen someone as beautiful as you" He takes me hand and kisses my knuckles.

“You’re not looking so bad yourself”. I find myself staring into his eyes and smiling. I can’t get this stupid grin off my face.

“Shall we go?”. He holds open the door for me and leads me by my hand into the car. I slide onto the cool, black leather and Jay slides in next to me. He holds my hand the entire 30 minute drive to the venue.

“Are you excited for tonight?” He asks, as we drive through the night.

“Yeah I really am. I’ve organised a few over the years up here. Before you started, but I’ve always come alone. No one back home knew what I did so I couldn’t bring any one. I'm am super excited to finally have a date”. I laugh.

“None of your friends new you had the business? Why not?”.

“Well I lived with all of them and I felt like if I told them, they wouldn’t treat me the same”.

“So you lived with people for years and they didn’t even know what you did for work?”.

“No. Well Steph just thought I worked in an estate agents and no-one else really asked so I never had to explain”.

“That must have been really lonely?”.

“I never used to think it was but since I’ve come here I’ve realised just how lonely I was. I miss Steph, and she knows now but yeah. I had to come to things like this alone and the Christmas party and stuff”.

“Well you can come to the Christmas party with me this year”.

“Thank you” I laugh. “Its really nice that I don’t have to hide anymore. You know the real me. I don’t ever have to pretend when I’m with you”.

“I love that. I’m glad you feel like that. I love spending time with you”.

“That’s a lot of loves right there”.

“Only two...for now”. He squeezes my hand. “Oh I hope you don’t mind, I put your stuff away. I know you said you wanted to move out but actually Ali, I don’t want you too”.

“I don’t want to leave either. Are you sure that’s okay?”.

“Yes. Aaron loves you and I haven’t seen him so happy in such a long time. Between you and River, I feel like I’m getting my best friend back”.

“That’s so sweet. You are literally the most adorable person in the world”.

“Who? Me?”. He laughs.

“I love your laugh. It makes me laugh” I admit shyly.

“Well I will have to laugh more often then”.

“What happened last night? With Jenny I mean? I don’t want pry...?” I’m so used to men being dishonest. I don’t expect him to tell me. It’s none of my business but I have to ask.
