Chapter 60!
Hey guys, it's been so long I know, I’ve had so much going on at the moment that I really haven’t felt like writing but things are a bit more calm now and I couldn’t wait to get back to Ali and Milo. Hope you’re all keeping safe. Thank you for being patient with me. Hope you enjoy chapter 60 and I will try to keep up more from now on 📖❤
My life just feels like a blur, first of all I sold my house and moved back in with Steph and Milo, the house was a little crowded now but I hate being in the big house alone, it had been two weeks since the funeral and that was enough for me to lose my fricken mind in that house. It was too quiet.
Oliver was running round but I just couldn’t focus on the screaming silence of Jay’s absence. The house sold very quickly. Steph helped me pack everything.
“Ali, I really think you should re think not throwing some of this out". She says as I’m shovelling Jay’s shirts into a box, labelled for the charity shop.
“And I really think they need to go, who’s going to wear them now?”. I stifle out a small giggle at Oliver who’s playing with my keys on the bed. “Are you going to wear these?” I say draping one over his head making him squeal in pure happiness. So innocent. My smile drops at Steph’s disapproving grimace.
“Sorry Steph, I’m not over it by a long shot but I have shit to sort out and I can’t stay in this house, our home. I just can’t do it”.
She simply nods at me and we continue packing in silence for a good hour.
“I’m off to London tomorrow”. There’s that look again as her head snaps back up at me.
“What? Why?”.
“I need to sort out the office and see Aaron, I have the meeting with Jays solicitor too for the will reading”.
“Well I’m coming with you. No way am I letting you go alone in this state". She says as a matter of fact.
“What state? I’m fine!”.
“Exactly. Mummy’s not going anywhere on her own for a while, is she? No she’s not”. She says as she picks up Oliver off the bed. I hate it when she uses Oliver to tell me off. Sometimes I feel like she’s my mum, even though she’s younger than me.
“No, I was actually hoping you’d look after him while I’m gone. Three days max".
“I have absolutely no problem looking after this squish for a few days but he does have a father you know".
“I know but things have been weird between us at the moment, I know he’s really worried about me and if I disappear for a few days, he'll be panicking at least this way he won’t know I’m going till I’ve gone and he won’t worry so much”.
“Your mummy’s a lunatic”. She laughs poking Oliver in the belly, which makes him drop my keys onto the floor, all whilst bursting into fits of laughter. He’s such a happy little thing.
“Maybe get Milo to go with you?”. Not taking her eyes of Oliver she carries on. “At least he won’t worry then".
“Urm no I’m good. He will annoy me more than you will". I say with half a smile.
“Fine. Be lonely bitch” The grin lingering on her face.
“He wouldn’t want to go with me anyway”.
“Where wouldn’t I want to go? I can only presume you’re talking about me...again?”. Milo pushes past Steph, startling both of us and stands awkwardly in the doorway to the bedroom. Oliver eyes light up and reach for him.
