I take a deep breath before the detective leads me through the door to face Kyle. I cant believe this is happening.

As I enter the room, Kyle’s eyes don't meet mine, his hands are resting on the table in handcuffs. He has a beard, he is wearing a grey sweatshirt which I’m assuming is from the police station. I wonder if they’ve charged him yet. From what I know of police procedures, they have to charge you within 24 hours or let you go so they must have had solid proof. I remembered the CCTV, he must have been clearly identified from it.

I take my seat opposite him, the detective starts the tape and sits next to me.

“I’m not talking to her while you’re in here Burby”. He looks at the detective but still doesn't make eye contact with me.

“Well Grey, you committed a crime so you don’t really have a choice, now talk"

“Ali, please I want to talk alone” I almost forget I'm here.

“Why should I let you do that Kyle?” I’m trying my best to stay calm but its taking every once of my being to do it.

“Because I’m not talking to anyone else so it’s your choice".

“Yeah you’re right Kyle, it is and I can walk out of here today and go on living my life. You cant, but maybe if you talk now, I can speak to my lawyer and maybe try and help you. God knows why I would want to do that but I will if you start talking now". God I’m far too nice for my own good. This is why people walk all over me.

“Okay, I’ll talk” For the first time since I sat down he looks at me. He has bags under his eyes, like he hasn’t slept for a few days. “I did do it. I did drug you and I did take all your stuff".

“Why?” I ask him. I didn’t actually expect him to admit it.

“Because I wanted revenge for you and that dickhead Milo"

“Language Mr Grey". Detective Burby warns and Kyle gives him a cold stare.

“Revenge for what Kyle? You cheated on me, I’m sorry I punched you but...”.

“You think its because of that! Don’t make me laugh Ali, I don’t care that you dumped me"

“Then why? Revenge for what?”

“You reported me to the police for tattooing underage girls, which i wasn’t even doing” He shoots a look at the detective “I lost everything because of that. I’m on the sex offenders register. I cant get a job anywhere. My girlfriend left me”.

“Jenna?”.

“No, not Jenna but speaking of Jenna she was half the reason I did this”.

“None of this is making sense Kyle. Just tell me from the start".

“A few months after the day you punched me, I didn’t think anything of it, then I got arrested for tattooing under age girls and apparently sleeping with them too. Which i hadn’t but they didn’t believe me, I got put on the sex offenders register and I had a suspended sentence. I had to move away, I had just started seeing a new girl and she dumped me. I couldn’t get another job tattooing anywhere because of the charges. It ruined my life Ali".

“Okay so it ruined your life Kyle, but that has nothing to do with me. I didn’t report you to the police".

“You might not have but your boyfriend did".
