Chapter 5- The Adventures of Marriage

"Luke! Seriously flush the toilet!" I stood outside the bathroom, hands on my hips.

"Sorry Babe" Lucas saw me and gave me a auick peck on the forhead.

"Yeah, yeah, whatever. Get cleaned up, we are going to Avia's."

I pushed him away.

He groaned "I swear Avia hates me!"

"You're the one that asked her if she was pregnant!" I smirked.

Luke threw his hands in the air.

"Luke she wasn't!"

"Sorry! I thought she was." Luke started to laugh and I slapped him.

"What was that for?"

"For thinking my sister was pregnant when she wasn't!"

Luke made a pouty face and I slapped him again.

"Hey Em" Avia hugged me and gave Luke a stern look.

"So come in" Avia's husband John motioned towards the dinner table.

We had steak and baked potatoes.

Avia spoke up "So since John and I aren't able to have kids" Luke choked on his baked potato and I kicked him under the table. "We have decided to adopt"

Avia smiled at her husband.

"Avia that's so exciting!" I looked over at Luke and kicked him again.

"Umm yes I'm so happy for you." Luke said, but it was more like a question.

Avia relaxed a little. "We were wondering if you would like to come to the orphanage with us tomorrow."

"We would love too!" I smiled at Avia and Luke gave me a glare.

"Why are we doing this again" Luke asked, we were driving to the orphanage where we would meet Avia and John.

"Because Lucas, I want too!" I whined.

"Happy wife, happy life" Lucas muttered, but I still heard.

When we got to the orphanage Avia and John were waiting.

"We already checked in" Avia led us up to the 2 year olds room.

All the kids looked so lonely.

I squeezed Luke's hand a little harder and he kissed my forehead.

"This is the little girl" I heard Avia say, I looked over to see Avia and John talking to a blonde hair, blue eyed little girl.

We walked over to them. "Emmi this is Allie."

"Hi Allie!" I waved and the girl sucked her thumb.

Avia explained that this was the girl they were going to adopt.

"I'm so happy for you" I hugged her.

We were at our house, watching a movie.

"Luke I want kids" My eyes filled with tears thinking about the kids at the orphanage.

"Adopt?"

I shook my head and Luke put his head in his hands. "Babe, I don't think I'm ready to have kids yet. I've told you this before!"

"But Lucas! I want kids!" I cried harder and Luke stood up.

He threw his hands in the air. "But I don't Emmi! What do you not understand!"

"Don't yell at me Lucas! Don't you love me?" I yelled back.

"Yes I do" Luke sat back down, put his arms around me and kissed me. "Maybe later, but right now I like it with just you and me."

I nodded and pulled away from his grasp, walking into the bathroom.

"Babe come back"
