A soul-piercing scream shattered the awkward silence. Fa-Lees looked down. At the motionless body of her husband tears in her eyes. She turned to the girl and before she could say anything was taken aback. Her red eye that had always interested Fa now shone with flames. She followed the girl as she sprinted down the stairs charging the boss, who had stood up in a panic at the sight of them. The two unleashed a barrage of fast strikes at the man. Stepping back as fast as he could the boss blocked every blow until without warning he felt a blade puncture his lung. The girl stood eye to eye with, her white eye blank as flames danced from her red eye.
"It's not over yet." Fa was again taken aback. The voice that spoke emitted palpable rage, something that until now had never came from the usual ethereal voiced girl. The flames in her eye now danced past her eyebrow but somehow didn't harm her. The girl slowly pulled the blade out and slammed it quickly through the man's hand. The shout of pain that followed only made the girl smile. Something pulled at the back of her mind, another consciousness, but she ignored it completely. She took her blade and started filleting flesh from the man's chest, giggling as ever fillet fell. As she raised the blade above her head, the blade sticking out of the bottom of her fist ready and aimed at the man's shoulder, sudden warmth overtook her. Her eyes flicked down to her body. Fa-Lees was holding to her, tears pouring down her cheeks.
"Little kitten come back I need you. Please, we have to check Torikk. Please please please come back." The flame in her eye dissipated in an instant, leaving only smoldering embers once again making her eye glow. The consciousness from before now rang through her body.
"Little one little one are you with me?"
"Yes." The girl replied not noticing she spoke aloud.
"Little kitten you back!" Fa's tear-filled eyes looked up at her with a sense of confused brightness. She let go of the girl. As she did the girl released the boss and turned to face Torikk. His body still stood, motionless. As she went to step towards him she felt a new sensation. In a blink of an eye one of the corners of the cloak hardened and in believable speeds flew up and pierced the boss in the neck. The strike was true. The boss's body fell motionless to the ground. The girl never broke eye contact. Slowly, as if to not wake him, she walked to Torikk's body. His flesh was cold. Blood ran down the blade that impaled him.
"It went through his heart. A blade that size," she went silent for a moment wiping tears from cheeks, "I would guess he didn't last long enough to feel it go through." The girl knew not how to reply. Only stood their not making a sound, hardly even breathing. "Little kitten? Little kitten are you ok?" The girl could hear Torikk speaking to her. A smile graced her lips until, "little kitten?" She felt her arm touched. only her eyes moved. She saw it was not Torikk but Fa speaking to her. Her body collapsed. Tears erupted from her eyes. She felt the tears of her red eye turn to steam as embers continued to smolder. "There there come here," she felt herself be pulled into the embrace of someone equally devastated. Fa did not make the sounds of one so grieved but anyone who saw the flood of tears would feel her pain. Without thinking the girl grabbed hold of Fa. They held the embrace for what felt like an eternity to them. In truth, it was a few seconds. Fa was the first to release. She went over to Torikk's and started to move his body. The girl came over to help. Torikk's body felt heavy to the girl. She was surprised. His eyes were closed. To the girls surprised the old cat looked peaceful. Hoisting the cat on to Fa's back the two left the building quickly. They didn't want to explain the massacre to anyone. All they wanted was to get to their camp and start the process of laying their loved ones to rest.
The girl watched as Fa cleaned the body. She was so gentle you would think she was cleaning a baby. The girl staid in silence as she watched. When Fa finally finished she left to handle something. The girl stayed in the room with Torikks body. Hours passed till Fa came back and handed asked her help. They took the body out to the hole Fa dug. It was directly next to the old tree they lived in. Before they laid the body to rest the girl took two coins from her pocket, each had the eye crossed out, over Torikks eyes. She gave Torikk a kiss on the cheek. Fa came up and whispered in his ear. She ended it with a kiss on his lips. As she started to lower his body her tears dropped on his body. The girl covered his body. As she did Fa carved in the tree "The Last Home of the Shadow Torikk."
