The girl stands holding her a shirt. Her blood dyed hair shining in the moonlight. Blood dripped down her face and off her chin. She had a moment of time that was blank. The last thing she remembered was the man she had been hunting for a year telling her he was not the one who took her or sold her. She felt wetness contact her feet. Her eyes slowly moved towards the cause. All around her was a puddle of blood with chunks of meat splattered around in it.

"What happened here?" She reached down to grab a hunk of flesh only to realize her hand was covered in blood. Tears started to mix with the blood. How could so much be blank when there was so much devastation around her. A sharp pain shot through her neck and into her spine.

"Little one are you back with me yet?" It was her cloak. Memories of what happened just five minutes before flooded her. Instantly she remembered chasing a man that she had been after for a year at this point.

"Where is the gangster?"

"Little one do you not remember anything?"

"I remember chasing him but I don't know what happened to him after that point."

"Brace yourself little one. You may not be ready for this." A fiery sensation flowed through her spine and into her head. Her right eye shone bright with a neon nebula. The gasses dancing deep in her eye as her left eye went blank. Its natural red iris sparkling as she stared into the nothing in front of her. Silently in flesh, her mind re-lived what occurred only moments before. She saw as she, in a primal rage, ripped a man's throat out of his neck. His eyes widened as he gasped for the air that only escaped his lungs now. Without hesitation, she grabbed his lower jaw. Putting her fingers in his gasping mouth, she pulled down fast in a sudden jerking motion and pulled his lower jaw off. Her left eye glowed with a raging flame. Slowly as the man's blood poured out of his gaping wounds she slammed her hand into his chest pulling out a rib. This was the last thing she saw before the connection was severed.

"What did I..."

"We should leave." The girl didn't need to say the rest for the cloak to know what she was thinking. All he wanted to do was save her from noticing the extent of the incident. It was too late. The girl's vision came back to her. She started to see what the hunks of flesh really were. She could make out bits of lung and stomach. Intestine pulled inside out and torn. Small bits of teeth were scattered throughout the puddles of blood around them. The embers in her left eye still smoldered. Without a second to defend against it the contents of her stomach flooded her mouth. Vomit erupted from her mouth, mixing in with the blood and flesh. Slipping on a slab of leg muscle on the ground she fell into a puddle on her hands and knees. Tears poured from the girl's right eye, The left still smoldered.

"Little one we need to go!" The cloaks words rang in her head like a large bell but she couldn't make sense of them. Her mind was shattering. She had never killed a man before this night and now she had killed four and the last one was mutilated at that. Tears poured from her and she couldn't catch her breath. She felt like her lungs were on fire.

"Little one now!" A new warmth passed through her. She felt her legs tingle for a moment and suddenly her senses came to her. It dawned on her, she was the only person at a murder scene.

"Little one we must go."

She ran out of the city. Looking up into the sky she noticed the moon had barely moved. Though it felt like it had been days since she had started her night in that warehouse it had only been two hours at most. The girl in the cloak climbed into a tree, wrapping the cloak around bloodstained flesh and pulling her hood down around her face. The tears had finally stopped flowing.

"I am still with you little one." The cloak felt perfect. It made her feel safe, even if now she could hear its thoughts. "We will find out the truth soon." The hood fluttered around her slightly in response to its thoughts. "I know this is not how you wanted it to end little one but, Happy Birthday. "
