Teach me to Love

Chapter 7

"What are you doing here lass?"   "I thought you were in Ireland"  he said.   ""i'm  finishing my last year of post secondary in the states" she told him "I'm just here today waiting for a friend that had a follow up interview." she added.

Before Finn could respond, Rebecca spotted Seth waling down the hallway  towards where she and Finn were standing, her heart fluttered when she saw him.  Finn turned and glanced at the tall good looking man with long brown hair walking towards them. "  he looked at her and said loud enough for Seth to hear.  "looks like you are pretty well smitten with the lad,  do  you remember what I taught you?" he asked her.

Rebecca blushed as Seth stared at the two of them.   "you two know each other?"  Seth said Rebecca nodded. "we've known each other since we played footie together as kiddos back in ireland" she said.

Seth stared at Finn and turned and looked at Rebecca and said "ready to go to dinner beautiful?"  Rebecca blushed a little and said "yes"   "i'll go get the car" he told her, "it looks like its raining" she nodded.

he kissed her softly on the cheek and headed outside. "you need to tell him" Finn told her.  "quit being a ninny" Rebecca scolded him, we have only been dating a few weeks.  "you and I are just friends, so I don't know what you are getting at." she said feeling herself start to get angry.

they made small talk until Seth pulled up with the car. Finn walked her out with his umbrella since it was pouring.  " you need to tell him" he said to her again "I was your first teacher, and you were the best one I had."

Becky watched the color drain from Seth's face.  Suddenly, she turned and uncorked a stiff right hand into Finn's mouth. "how dare you!!" she said angrily getting in the car.  Finn was shocked especially when he noticed the blood trickling from his lip.

"that's the Becca I remember" he chuckled "still a spitfire ya are lass"  "nice to see you again" he said with a wave.

Rebecca and Seth drove to the restaurant and had dinner in silence, and the ride back to the hotel was quiet too. 

Becky quickly changed once they were back in their hotel room and was lost in thought when Seth came out of the bathroom to hang up his suit.  "is there something I need to know about you and lucky the leprechaun?" he chuckled.   "I don't like when people hide things from me and aren't truthful" he said "especially people I care about" he said.

Rebecca giggled "no, "she said shaking her head "we are just very good friends and always have been" she said.   "but, Rebecca.... he said he was your first teacher" Seth said then his voice grew soft "and he said I needed to know because you were the best one he had." he added quietly. I didn't think you were that kind of girl.......?"

Rebecca blushed horribly as she felt tears in her eyes from anger and embarrassment "SETH COLBY LOPEZ!!!! she cried angrily  "how dare you insinuate that I am lying or that I am easy!" she said as the tears welled in her eyes and trickled down her cheeks.

"the only things Finn ever taught me were: self defense,  CPR, and first aid." she said  "he has a wrestling school back home and worked there as an assistant trainer from the ages of 16-18.  I even filled in as trainer a few times.  "the school was in a bad area as was my high school and kids were getting beat up after school and before school, so he taught me a bunch of self defense to be safe she said."

"I don't know why he made it sound the way he did today" she admitted "he always told me mum and pop i was his best student and I was a fast learner"  "we never had a relationship... his mum saw to that"

"he is 5 years older than me, and he is like a brother to me.. BUT we did start having some feelings  for each other, so we went out on a few dates... " we never even kissed let alone anything else.. his mum caught him trying to kiss me and bopped him with a broom!" she said "and when she found I was catholic, she forbid us from seeing each other except as friends at work...."  " she said we'd burn in hell if we were together"

"so....maybe he saw the way you looked at me, and felt a little jealous?" Seth said  "possibly" she said.   "and another thing" she said quietly... she couldn't finish what she was saying as Seth's lips captured hers in an intense kiss that left them both smiling and a little breathless.  "shh" he said.." I already know that part" he said holding her close as he kissed her again.
