Holly's POV
Damon and I walking through town when we find Stefan in his old clothes from 1864. "Look at you, all retro" Damon says smiling.
"What are you both doing here?" Stefan asks us.
"Why wouldn't I be here? Bonnie deactivated the Gilbert invention, Isobel is gone and it's Founders' Day! I'm here to eat cotton candy and steal your girl" Damon says smiling. I roll my eyes, it's like 1864 all over again.
"Don't start with me Damon" Stefan tells him.
"Oh, you started this Stefan with that whole 'I'm insecure, leave Elena alone' speech. I'm enjoying that" Damon states.
"As long as you heard it" Stefan says.
"What? You have no sense of humor, Stefan" Damon tells him.
"Actually he has no Damon sense of humor" I correct him.
"'Damon humor'...Hey look, I get it, I get it. I'm the better, hotter, superior choice and you're scared, now that Katherine is out of the picture, that I'm gonna turn all my attention to Elena. But don't worry, Elena is not Katherine" Damon assures him.
"You're right she's not" Stefan agrees.
"But she sure looks like her" I say smiling as I spot Elena. In her period dress she looks strikingly like Katherine. She smiles at us and curtsies. Suddenly I receive a call and excuse myself. "Hello" I say.
"I'm using the device tonight during the fireworks, be out of town by then" John tells me.
"Thanks for the heads up, good luck" I tell him and hang up. Suddenly I receive another call. "Holly speaking" I say.
"Hello grandmother, I'll be arriving tonight" Katherine states.
"Come after the fireworks granddaughter, John will be using the device then" I tell her.
"Of course, see you tonight" she says and hangs up. I roll my eyes and go back to the parade in time for Elena's float. As the war one passes.
"Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome our stunning Miss Mystic Falls Court and their handsome escorts" Mrs Lockwood announces. "This is Caroline Forbes, Miss Mystic Falls. Aren't they beautiful?" she asks us. We all agree as we wave to those on the float.
I see Damon thanking Bonnie and I roll my eyes. I decide to hang around a bit longer. I'm soon found by Stefan who is now in current day clothes. "You did good" I tell him.
"Thank you, I thought you should know. Damon and I figured out John may be Elena's biological father. I've told her, but we don't have proof" he tells me.
"I told them it could happen" I say chuckling.
"So it's true?" he asks me.
"What do you think?" I ask smirking. "I have to go out of town tonight, but I'll be back. Take care of Elena while's I'm gone" I tell him before leaving.
(Town square) Third Persons POV
"Hi Elena, have you thought about what I told you?" Stefan asks Elena as they enjoy the festivities.
"Yes, I'm not ready yet though" she tells him.
"There's something else you should know to" he tells her. "About your family history" he states.
"What is it?" she asks him.
"You have another vampire family member, aside from Isobel and Katherine" he states. "Holly is Kathrine's great something Grandmother. Makes her your ancestor also, she asked me not to tell you. But I thought you deserved to know" he explains.
"Why wouldn't she want me to know?" Elena asks him confused.
"I don't know" he says shaking his head.
"I want to speak to her" Elena states.
"She's not here, she left town for the night. But she'll be back tomorrow" Stefan explains. Suddenly Damon appears grabbing Elena's other hand.
"What are you doing?" Elena asks him.
"Saving your life. Fifteen words or less...Tomb vamps are here. Founding families are their target" Damon explains and turns to Stefan. "Get her out of here now" he instructs and starts to leave.
"Wait, where are you going?" Stefan asks him.
"That's more then fifteen words Stefan" Damon tells him and leaves.
"Wait, Jeremy is out here somewhere" Elena tells Stefan.
"Let's go find him, come on" Stefan tells her and they go search for Jeremy. Stefan thinking they could really use Holly's help right now. She's the oldest vampire in town and could get the tomb vampires under control. Why did she have to leave?
(The Falls) Holly's POV
I sit by the falls so that I can watch the fireworks. I'm far enough away from the town so that even if I am effected. I won't be found and I'm soon joined by Katherine. "You're just in time for the fireworks" I tell her. She seats beside me as the fire works starts. We hear the device go off, but since we're so far. It only gives us a bad headache, we don't black out.
"I'm going to go pay John a visit, want to come watch my performance?" she asks me smirking.
"Sure, you going to pretend to be Elena?" I ask.
"Of course, only you know I'm in town. It'll be fun" she states.
"We should get Elena's things from the school" I tell her. We go to the school and get Elena's things. I then follow at distance as she goes to Elena's house. Katherine arrives at the house as Damon comes out. Oh this should be good I jump up into a tree to watch the scene.
"What are you doing here?" Katherine asks Damon.
"Failed and feeble attempt at doing the right thing" he states.
"Which was..." she tries to ask but her cuts her off.
"It's not important. Let me take this for you" he tells her taking the bags from her. He sets them down by the door. Katherine thanks him. "You know, I came to this town wanting to destroy it. Tonight, I found myself wanting to protect it. How does that happen? I'm not a hero, Elena. I don't do good. It's not in me" Damon explains.
"Maybe it is" she tells him gently. Man she's doing a good job at pretending to be Elena.
"Nah, it's reserved for my brother, and you...and Bonnie...who, even though she has every reason to hate me, still helped Stefan save me" Damon says surprised.
"Why do you sound so surprised?" Katherine asks him fawning confusion.
"Because she did it for you. Which means that somewhere along the way, you decided that I was worth saving. And I wanted to thank you for that" Damon tells her gently.
"You're welcome" Katherine tells him. He kisses her on the cheek; they look at each other. He hesitates and then he kisses her she pulls away slightly. Then Damon grabs 'Elena' and they kiss passionately for a few seconds until Jenna opens the door and interrupts them. They stop and Damon tries to hide himself.
"It's late, you should probably come inside" Jenna tells Katherine thinking she's Elena. Katherine grabs Elena's things and goes inside the house. Damon leaves with a smile on his face. I almost feel bad for him. Wait until he realizes it wasn't Elena. Now that'd be amusing.
I stay in my tree and smell blood from inside the house. Suddenly the real Elena comes home on the phone to Stefan. "I looked everywhere. Yeah, someone definitely took my stuff. I'm just gonna check on Jeremy before I go to the hospital" she tells him. I frown why does she have to go to hospital? "Can you meet me there? Okay. I love you Stefan" she says and hangs up. SHe unlocks the house and enters.
