S2E36: Crying Wolf

Holly's POV

"I did not know you'd be here Holly" Carol says surprised. As I have tea with her and Elijah at the tea party she'd organized for the historical society. Elijah invited me along.

"Elijah hired me as his research assistant and invited me along" I tell her.

"Oh yes about your book Elijah, I have a question" she tells him smiling.

"Do tell" he says smiling.

"Have you spent much time in Richmond for your book? There's such a wealth of history there" Carol tells him. That is true.

"No, I'm focusing mostly on the smaller regions of Virginia. Lots of research. Strictly academic" he tells her.

"That's fascinating" she says smiling.

"Hello Damon" I say when Damon joins us.

"Holly, Carol" he says smiling.

"What a surprise" Carol says smiling. Damon and Carol exchange kisses on the cheek. "Hi. Elijah, I want you to meet Damon Salvatore" she say introducing the pair.

"His family is one of Mystic Falls' founding families" I add.

"Such a pleasure to meet you" Damon says holding a hand out to Elijah.

"No. Pleasure's mine" Elijah says shaking his hand.

"I hope you don't mind Carol, but I heard of Elijah's book. I wanted to ask him some questions about it" Damon tells her.

"Go ahead, I have other guests to greet. Enjoy your tea" she tells us and leaves. Damon then leads Elijah and I to Richard Lockwood's old study.

"What can I do for you, Damon?" Elijah asks as I pour myself a drink.

"I was hoping we could talk" Damon states.

"Where's Elena? I tried calling her earlier" I tell him.

"Safe with Stefan. They're laying low, you know, bit of a werewolf problem" he reminds me.

"Oh, yeah, I heard about that" Elijah says.

"I'm sure you did since it was your witch and vampire that saved the day" Damon states.

"You're welcome for that, by the way" I tell him smiling. Damon sits up on the desk looking at Elijah.

"Which adds to my confusion on exactly why you're here" he states.

"Why don't you just stay focused on keeping Elena safe with Hollyann. Leave the rest to me" Elijah tells him. Elijah moves to exit the room, but Damon vamp-speeds in front of him, blocking the way out. Bad move.

"Not good enough" Damon tells him. Elijah grabs Damon by the throat tightly and vamp-speeds him into a wall. Damon, in retaliation, grabs Elijah's throat and Elijah doesn't flinch. Elijah grabs Damon's hand and pulls it off of his neck. Making sure to crush Damon's hand as he does so.

"Young vampires these days, so arrogant" I say amused. Elijah drops Damon's hand from his own, but continues to hold Damon up against the wall by the throat.

"How dare you come in here and challenge me?" Elijah says annoyed.

"You can't kill me, man. It's not part of the deal" Damon groans. Elijah grabs a pencil lying on the desk and stabs Damon in the neck with it. Damon clutches at the pencil and yells in pain. Elijah lets go of Damon, who claps his hand over the bloody wound after removing the pencil. Elijah whips out a handkerchief from his pocket and wipes the blood off his hands.

"He's an original, show him a little respect Damon" I sneer. Elijah dangles the handkerchief in front of Damon. Who grabs it hastily, and places it on his wound.

"The moment you cease to be of use to me, you're dead, so you should do what I say. Keep Elena safe" Elijah tells him. We then leave the room.

"That was amusing" I say. "I'm gonna go check on Elena though" I tell him. I find Jenna and approach her. "Hey Jenna, can I ask you something?" I ask her.

"Of course Holly" she says smiling.

"I tried to call Elena earlier, but couldn't reach her. Do you know where she is?" I ask her.

"She's at our family's lake house with Stefan, she wanted to get away from John" she states.

"Don't we all" I say smiling and she chuckles. "I'll just talk to her when she returns, it's not urgent" I tell her. We say goodbye and I leave then go change clothes. Before driving to the Gilbert Lake House.

I arrive as the sun sets and see another car hiding in the tree line. I take a deep breath and smell wolves. I snarl and hear running inside the house. I get out of the car and rush to the door way. I hide as Elena runs out chased by a wolf. I shove my hand into his chest. "I warned you" I snarl and rip his heart out at Stefan hugs Elena.

"Thank you" Stefan says.

"I protect family Stefan" I tell him as Tyler appears. Elena looks at Tyler surprised.

"Tyler?" she says confused.

"I didn't know what they were gonna do to you. I didn't. I just...I don't want to be like this anymore" Tyler tells her. I give him a sympathetic smile, I can only imagine how much pain he goes through.Elena pulls away from Stefan and walks over to Tyler. They stare at each other for a moment and Elena embraces him. Tyler wraps his arms around Elena. "I'm sorry, Elena" he cries into her shoulder.

"It's okay" she assures him. They continue to embrace as Stefan watches with a sigh of relief.

"I have a body to bury, keep her safe Stefan" I tell him. I throw Brady's dead body over my shoulder and carry it into the woods. I find a secluded area and start to dig a hole using the shovel from my boot. Soon another shovel joins me.

"I thought you could use some help" Tyler says.

"Thank you, I'm sorry you have to turn" I tell him as we dig. "I have known many wolves in my life time. I've seen how powerful your transformations are" I state.

"I'm leaving town, until I can control my new personality" he states.

"I think that is wise, do not worry. I shall watch over your mother and Caroline" I tell him. He looks at me surprised. "I'm very old, I know a crush when I see one. I think you two would be good together" I tell him. "But it's not my decision, it is yours and hers" I state. We bury Brady and I give Tyler a lift back to town. Before going to my apartment.
