S2E31: Katerina

Holly's POV

Katerina and I are chilling as we slowly desiccate from lack of blood. She looks real pale and I doubt I look much better. When we hear Elena call our names as the tomb door is opened. We go to see her and see Caroline with her. "Hello Elena. You come to watch me wither away? Goodbye Caroline" Katerina says and Caroline leaves.

"Stefan know you here?" I ask Elena.

"I brought you both some things" she states dodging the question.

"You came to bribe us? What is it that you want?" Katherine asks her.

"I want you to tell me about Klaus" Elena tells us.

"Ah Klaus" I say as I sit down.

She shows us a book on the Petrova family history. "It's your family history. It says in here that the family line ended with you. Obviously that's not true" Elena states.

"Obviously" I say bored.

"You think that if you brought us some family keepsake that we'd open up?" Katerina asks her.

"I also brought you these" Elena states showing us two bottles of blood. Katherine rushes over towards Elena but she can't get out because of the spell. While I just look at them in hunger. "You both don't look so good. How long before your bodies shuts down? 10, 20 years? It must be painful to desiccate and mummify. I can't even imagine" she says.

Katherine sits down on the floor beside me. Elena puts some blood in to two glasses on the ground and pushes them towards us with a stick. Katherine and I take the glasses and drink the blood. Our skin regains some of its color. "You have the Petrova fire" Katerina tells Elena.

"More blood?" Elena asks us. We place the glasses down. Elena draws them back to her and refills them. Before handing them back to us.

"It's a long story, Klaus and I" Katerina tells her.

"My story with him is even longer, but lets stick with Katerina's story" I tell her.

"It goes all the way back to England, 1492, after I left Bulgaria. Or was thrown out" Katerina explains.

"Thrown out?" Elena asks her.

"My family, your true ancestors, they disowned me. My indiscretions were not tolerated at that time. I had a baby out of wedlock. The shame" Katerina says.

"Though it wasn't a shame when I did it" I state shrugging.

"The baby was kept secret?" Elena asks Katerina.

"Mhmm. My baby was given away. I was banished to England and I had to learn to adjust. So I quickly became English. It was there that I caught the eye of a nobleman named Klaus. I was taken with him at first, til I found out what he was and what he wanted from me. And then I ran like hell" Katerina explains.

(Flashback to 1492)

I remember that night. I was with Klaus as Elijah left with Trevor and some humans to search the woods for Katerina. "Do not worry Uncle Klaus, Papa Elijah will find her" I assure him.

"Yes, are you fine with this?" he asks me.

"I hate that my human family line is ending. But we're family and I want you to be free" I tell him smiling. We sit in silence as we wait for Elijah to return with Katerina.

(End of flashback)

"So what did Klaus want?" Elena asks us.

"The same thing that he'll want from you" Katerina tells her.
