-Destiney-
"Oh God," I breathed out as I hugged Liam's front door. It felt so nice to finally be somewhere besides that hospital, especially home.
"C'mon," Liam chuckled softly and pried my arms away from his door. "Lay down."
"Liam, I've been laying down every day," I frowned. "I wanna do something. Look I have this now," I said, holding up the bag that contained an oxygen tank. "I can do what I want!"
"Not how it works," he shook his head with a small frown. He took my hand and lead me towards the sofa. I sat down and crossed my arms, pouting up at him. "Don't give me that look," he shook his head.
"You suck," I mumbled and reached for the tv remote. At least Liam has better channels than the hospital does.
"Too bad," he sighed and plopped down next to me, wrapping his arm around me as if it were a natural instinct to do so. I leaned into him and took a deep breath, inhaling his wonderful scent.
"Liam, can I use your phone some time?" I asked softly.
"Of course," he answered as he took both of my hands and covered them with his own. He knew I loved it when he did that, because it warmed them and warmth was one thing I needed and enjoyed.
"If you have it on you now, that would be ace," I added, angling my neck to look up at him. He leaned a bit on his side before pulling it out and laying it in my lap. "Do I have a time limit, or.."
He shook his head no. I nodded and picked it up. I needed a passcode to unlock it, so I typed in the same one I some how remember him using back in school. It worked. "You remembered," he whispered, and I looked up to see him grinning back at me.
"Of course I did," I smiled. "Surprised you still use the same one, though." I turned back to the phone and tapped on the phone app, then quickly typed in the number I had been meaning to call for several weeks now. I put it on speaker phone.
"Who-"
"My boss," I answered quickly. I knew that no matter what I didn't have the job anymore. I only had one month off, not five.
"Hello?" I heard from the phone and held a finger up to Liam, making sure he knew not to say anything. Though I wasn't worried about him getting too wordy.
"Hi, this is Gladice, correct?"
"Destiney, is that you?"
"Um, yeah. Hi, Gladice," I replied while fumbling with the hem of the blanket I was using. "It's been awhile."
"Yes it has! Where have you been all these months, darling? I tried calling you when we returned home but no one answered. After a week I became so worried. Oh-are you alright, dear?"
"Well.." I glanced at Liam, and he gave me a small shrug. "I'm alive."
"What is that supposed to mean? Destiney, where have you been all this time?" I couldn't tell if she was angry or just upset. I didn't think she would be very angry once I told her everything.
"Um..is there a time that I can come talk with you personally?" Liam tensed up beside me, his arm that was around me pulling closer to my body. He didn't want me doing more physical activity than he thought I could handle.
"Yes of course, tomorrow afternoon would be fine. Is that alright?"
"That's fine," I nodded, though she couldn't see me at the moment. "I'll see you tomorrow then. Take care."
"You too, love," she answered before the line went dead.
"Please don't kill me," I said quickly, turning to face Liam.
