Danganronpa: Poisoned Hope (Fanganronpa)

Chapter 1 - Our Energy Drink Filled With Our Demise - FTE: Gin, Mizuki

We arrived at the gym, the door creaking upon our entry. We made our way backstage of the gym's stage, Tam still having time to shoot a playful basketball into the hoop, Ginnarrowly dodging it hitting his head.

Once we got upstairs to the suite, Tam set down his crate of energy drinks.

"So what are they for?" I asked.

"These, my friend, are my secret weapon," He responded, opening a can and drinking some of the drink.

"I see..." I opened the door to the suite. Since I've never been there before, I took a moment to see what was inside. Just like Nanako said, there were tons of fitness equipment; treadmills, dumbbells, exercise bikes, rowing machines just to name a few. One wall was lined with sixteen lockers, each with our names and nameplates to go along with them. There was a small window by a blank empty wall that stood out from the rest of the room. Every other wall was painted and decorated except that one. It was so bland that I understood why Nanako wanted to paint it in the first place. It was like it was there for that very purpose.

After looking around, I turned around to see Gin standing there, fixing some wires dangling out of the monitor.

"Where's Tam?" I asked looking around the room.

"While you were daydreaming he went to get some other stuff. Nanako gave him a whole list of things to bring, like gum and chocolate bars," he responded, crouching over and not looking up from his and Ryuto's work. Gin, like many other people here, was very passionate and committed to his talent. I remember seeing him in a newspaper article, holding a trophy. He was the youngest person alive to win an award for science, and in many different fields too. He studied almost every field in science, varying from biology to psychics to chemistry among many more. People learned about him and admired him, gaining him the title of Ultimate Scientist. Since I'd never interacted with Gin with the others being here, I thought this was the perfect opportunity to learn more about him.

"So, you are a famous scientist I've heard," I said, acting like I hadn't heard of him before we got trapped here. He certainly had more fame than me.

"Eh, I guess. It's kind of a bother though, with people following you around and such. I'd much rather just stay in my room all day and do some actual work than going outside and get attack by strangers thinking I'm the next Bill Nye the Science Guy or something though," he sighed.

"Well, you must be really good at it to get so much fame," I walked over to him, " How did you get into science anyway?" I asked.

He looked up from the monitor and responded, "Short answer is, I started to try and help a friend," with that, he got back to work. I changed the subject.

"You and Tama are really close, how did that happen?"

"Oh...Uh...I guess he just kinda trusts me. I don't know why, he just seems to like me and latch onto me, probably has something to do with the first day..."

I gave him a side-eye and smirked, "What happened on the first day?"

"Nothing...We just woke up in the same room. I fell out of my locker and right on top of him. He just stood there, laughed and helped me up before introducing himself. I guess since I was the first person he met after waking up he just kinda trusts me,"

I giggled and smiled."Aw, that's cute!"

"H-Hey! No, it's not! It was embarrassing! Do you know how awkward and bad I am at meeting new people? It was like hell!" He said, getting flustered and his face turning a light shade of pink before fading away. "It's just...nevermind"

"Why? What is it?" I asked

"Just something personal...if we're closer I'll tell you...maybe" He responded "Anyway...I guess if you were to ask me if I trust Tam too...I would probably say I do. He might come off as a person who doesn't think before taking action, but he's a good guy," he made a small smile before standing up straight, holding the monitor. He looked up at the corner of the wall by the door before sulking.
