"Gin." I began. "I've just noticed something."
"H-Huh?" he stuttered, lifting his head to meet my eyes.
"The information you gave us in the autopsy and the information we've just figured out contradict each other...That means what you told us was incorrect." I explained as he widened his eyes.
"O-Oh! You mean...Did I get the autopsy wrong? Sorry..."
"No need to apologize Gin. You were pretty freaked out. Plus, it's normal to make mistakes. Don't worry about it." Arashi tried to reassure the boy. "With Tama and Ichika both dying, it's understandable."
"Wow, your pretty dense." Kei crosses his arms.
"Dense? What do you mean?" she turned to him.
"Gin did not make a mistake. He lied to us," he said.
"L-Lied? Me?" Gin repeated, a wave of nervousness overtaking his voice as he spoke.
"Why would Gin lie?" Mei asked.
"Well, that's obvious...He lied because he is the culprit." Kei emphasized the last sentence to make sure we all understood.
Gin...was the culprit?
Did he kill Tama and Ichika?
Sure, I've just started suspecting him, but hearing it out loud sounds...so strange.
"Wha Wha Wha! That's a plot twist!" Mizuki gasped.
"Do you really think an Ultimate Scientist would screw up an autopsy report?" Kei questioned us, almost being disappointed at our gullibility. "I mean, come on. You should've realized that ages ago. There wasn't even any rope burn on her neck."
"But weren't Gin and Tama like...best buddies?" Arashi titled her head. "It's also hard to believe a small guy like him killing two people."
"Relationships don't matter in a killing game. Anyone can murder anyone, no matter what." Toshiro harshly replied. "I did tell you all that trusting each other was useless. Those two idiots put their trust in your lot and now look. They both died cause of that short-ass."
"B-But...I didn't kill them!" the accused boy exclaimed.
"How about you cut the crap early and admit it? We wouldn't want this trial to run on like the last one..." Kei began to pressure Gin to confess.
"N-No...I didn't do it!" he pleaded.
"And how do we know that freak is right?" Reina asked. "He could be making this up to get us all killed!"
"Well, I do find it quite difficult to believe that Gin killed both Ichika and Tama. It's a bit of a stretch, don't you think?" Haru joined in.
"Anything can happen in a killing game. It's not the craziest thing that could happen." Kei sighed.
"At least show us some proof or something!" Reina exclaimed. "Prove your argument!"
It might sound impossible...but Gin could be the culprit. I'm finding it difficult to believe and wrap it around myself...
But why is Kei so determined to prove Gin's is the culprit? Maybe he knows something that we don't...
What if he's right? What if Gin did kill them?
...Even if it's unbelievable, I should consider all possibilities, including this one. So although I don't agree with it as of now, we should explore that option.
