Chapter 2 - A Curtain Call For A Killer Performance - FTE: Gin

I peeked inside the Ultimate Scientist Lab, watching Gin from behind work on something. Since the last time we hung out while preparing for Nanako's spray paint session, I've always wanted to talk to him more and get to know him better, so since I had some free time, I decided to do just that.

On my tiptoes, I quietly crept in, trying not to make a sound. Suddenly, I heard someone say:

"You know I can still see you in the reflection of the beak-

Before Gin could finish his sentence, I grabbed his shoulders. "Boo!" I playfully laughed.

"AHHH!" He yelped, almost spilling the liquid in his test tube. After that scare, he stared at me, clearly irritated. "Why would you do that?!?"

"I don't know, you looked really concentrated so I thought I would scare you a bit, " I put my hands on my hips and looks down at him. Our height difference wasn't helped by my heels. "The bigger question is...If you already saw me coming, why did you get scared?" I asked with a playful grin.

"Well...B-Because...You scared me of course! What idiot walks into a laboratory to scare a scientist at work! Along with that, one drop of that liquid spilled, and the whole school might have gone down! Do you know how much work this took?" He replied, clearly exaggerating while I just smiled.

"Is it that important? If it is...then I'm sorry!" I apologized happily. He looked down.

"You wouldn't get how important it this is..." he mumbled.

"I would get it if you told me...Besides, the whole reason I came here was to hang out with you!"

"R-Really?" He looked back up at me surprised, "You must be bored out of your mind right now to come to talk to me. But I guess I could chat for a bit... Unless you've changed your mind already?"

Should I talk to Gin for a bit?

"I haven't changed my mind at all!" I took a seat on one of the stools by the labs counter, rested my head on my head, and watched him.

He stared at me with a confused expression. "What are you doing?"

"Im watching you do science stuff. Science wasn't my strong suit in school but I always thought the explosions and practicals were cool!"

"Science isn't just about that stuff! It's about helping people and discovering more about the universe," He responded.

"Really Then who exactly are you helping?" I ginned.

"N-No one!"

"Really...? Then why about that important liquid earlier?" I questioned again.

"N-Nothing!"

"I don't believe it!"

We stared at each other intensely, before he gave in and sighed. "You ask way too many questions... Fine, I'll tell you!"

"Great!" I cheered as he took a seat in front of me. "So, tell me all about it..."

"If I'm going to do that...I have to explain something that happened in elementary school..." He began.
