Part 8

"And Colton is okay with the three of us staying here?" Raven walked into the compound, with Dinah still sleeping in her arms.

Lauren smirked, taking a long look at her old home. "It did take a lot of convincing on my part, but if he resisted, I would've just taken my home from him with either way."

"This is what you were doing while I was busy looking for Dinah?" Raven scoffed, she couldn't  believe that Lauren thought that this was more important than saving Dinah.

"I still saved her though." Lauren pointed out.

Colton approached them with a forced smile on his face. "Welcome ladies, I'll have one my guys take your things to the spare room.

"Actually Colton, I'd prefer if I have my old room and give Dinah and Raven the other main bedrooms." Lauren gave him a sweet smile and his jaw clenched at the request, but did as she told him.

Raven went to her room, setting Dinah down and watching over her till she woke up.

Lauren however had to play nice with her lovely host. "How has New Orleans treated you all these years." Lauren made her way over to Colton, leaning against the balcony.

He shrugged, watching his guys below interact with each other. "You've built quite a kingdom." Lauren said somewhat impressed, she didn't want him think she was all that impressed with what he did.

"Yeah, I had a lot of time on my hands, being left alone and all." Colton side eyed her, never fully meeting Lauren's eyes.

The hybrid looked down in shame, remembering the night everything went to shit. "I thought you were dead."

"But you never knew for certain if I was." Colton now faced her. Lauren thought that he would be angry, but he only had a sad and disappointed look on his face.

"I saw your body. You were covered in blood and you weren't moving." Lauren explained, the night still clear as ever to her. She never told anyone, but she still had nightmares from that night.

"But you never came back, to check if I maybe didn't die after all." Colton bitterly expressed. He waited day after day, expecting Lauren to return for him, but she never did.

"What did you expect from me? I was a scared little fifteen year old girl on the run for my life! My parents were killed, my uncles and aunts were killed! Everything was taken away from me in one night. So forgive me for not returning to the place that brought me nothing, but despair." Lauren defended herself.

The town was so bloody that night. Masses ran around screaming and fearing for their life. She saw Dinah crying on the side of the street. Dinah was only 9 years old and alone. Lauren had known of her, but they never really spoke much.

During all the chaos, she managed to make her way to Dinah and scoop the girl up in her arms and made a run for it.

The girls spent two years together on the run from the people that killed her family. Dinah was still human and Lauren was a witch-werewolf. Lauren's father being a hybrid with witch family background and her mother too being a werewolf, made Lauren the world's very first tribrid. Nobody else knew she was a tribrid, expect for Raven, Dinah and Colton

Her vampire genes were not active, so it enabled her to use her magic and cast spells.

The night that the two girls met Raven was when Lauren activated her werewolf curse. She was only seventeen when she killed her first person by accident.

A man tried to take Dinah as they walked through a very sketchy alleyway. Lauren picked up metal pole from the ground and hit it over the man's head, resulting in his death.

Raven also happened to be walking through that same alley and she was already a turned vampire at the age of 24. Raven had also fled New Orleans the night of Lauren's family death.

Raven witnessed the whole scene with the man in the alley and came to both the girl's rescue. She helped Lauren through her first transition and later on cared for both girls. The three girls were inseparable there after.

"Are what people say true?" Colton's voice brought Lauren out of her trance.

"What is?"

"That the next generation vampires are ruthless killers." He asked, referring to the trio.

"It's true what they say about me, not them." The hybrid confessed. The amont of people she had killed during her lifetime, is horrifying.

"I can't believe that the sweet little girl that I use to play hide and seek with as a kid is now the most feared creature on Earth."

"Gaining that title wasn't easy." Lauren joked, not really caring for what other people thought of her.

"I'm still confused by how you, Dinah and Raven became like the original vampires. Your father, aunt and uncles were the only original vampires, because they were the first vampires to roam the Earth. It isn't possible for you and your friends to become like them too." Colton curiously wondered.

"We all saw how that turned out for Marcel when he tried to be like the original vampires." Colton added, bringing up history.

Lauren grinned at his curiosity, "We didn't become like the originals or like Marcel, we became something better." The hybrid honestly told him, her eyes turning a deep dark orange.

Lauren strutted away before the vampire could ask anymore questions. She entered Raven's room and was happy to see that Dinah had finally woken up.

"About time sleeping beauty." Lauren sat besides her friend on the bed. Dinah gave her a playful shove, happy that Lauren was here.

"After being out for so long, I'm actually starving." Dinah dramatically expressed and Raven left to retrieve blood bags for a very hungry Dinah.

"How are you feeling?" Lauren asked.

"It sucked having that bitch kill me but other than that I'm fine."

Lauren chuckled at Dinah's response, glad that she's okay.

"If it makes you feel any better, I ripped her heart out. I won't let anyone get away if they harmed my sister." Lauren evilly grinned and Dinah gave her a grateful smile.

"I'll always protect you." The hybrid sincerely confessed.

"Always and forever."

"Are you weirdos done bonding over killing people? Here's your blood." Raven playfully rolled her eyes at the two girls, while throwing a few blood bags to Dinah.

The vampire early tore them open, hungrily drinking the blood.

"Are you planning on leaving tomorrow?" Lauren questioned Dinah who nodded in response.

"Could you perhaps stay for one more day. I was planning on throwing a little party for our return."

"What are you up too?" Raven narrowed her eyes at Lauren.

The hybrid, gave her a not so innocent smile and Raven could only hope that she wasn't planning on doing anything bad.
