Part 31

"Seriously Sky.You got called into the principal's office again?" Camdyn sighed when he noticed his sister sitting outside the office.

"Why don't you piss of Cam." She rolled her eyes at her twin and Camdyn immediately took a seat next to her.

"This is about mom isn't it?"

Skylar did answer him, only playing with her fingers as she avoided eye contact.

"Mama told us that she misses us and-"

"And what Camdyn? She can't even make the time to call us anymore. Some fucking mother she is."

He winced at the sixteen year old's vulgar language, but he understood her frustration. They hadn't seen Lauren in over four years.

"Skylar Jauregui!" Camila scolded as she walked towards her daughter. Any parent would be angry to receive a phone call from the school in the middle of the day to come collect their child because they weren't behaving.

"Go get your things, I'm too upset to talk to you right now." Skylar rolled her eyes, making her way to her room to collect all her luggage.

"She's been acting out all week." Camdyn told his mom and Camila sighed, rubbing her temples.

"You also need to get your bags, love."

"What why? I haven't done anything wrong." He loved this school, he didn't want to go back home till it was the holidays.

"Please Cam, I'm not in the mood to argue with you." Camdyn huffed softly, but obeyed his mother's orders.

Skylar angrily packed her clothes, muttering curse words under her breath as she did so.

"You're leaving?"

Her heart sped up at the familiar voice and she slowly spun around.

Skylar watched the way her curls bounced as she made her way closer.

"Will you come back?" Her icy blue eyes pierced into Skylar's and she forgot how to speak for a second.

"I th-think so." Skylar stuttered and Chloe grinned.

"Good because I'll miss you." She pecked Skylar on the cheek, leaving the girl alone once was again.

She packed her things now with a small smile on her face and carried her luggage downstairs to her mom and brother.

She stopped when she she saw a bunch of students surrounding her mom, all of them squealing around her in excitement.

"Is it true that you're a heretic. A witch and a vampire!"

"My dad told me that you saved the vampires and witches from going to war 4 years ago."

"My mom said you're the last witch in the Gemini coven."

"You're really pretty."

Camila chuckled at all the questions being thrown her way, not sure how to answer them. Her eyes then landed on her daughter who watched the scene unfold.

"I'd love to answer all your questions but I actually have to go. I'll answer your questions another time." Camila slipped past the students making her way to her daughter and Camdyn came up behind her.

"Ready to go?" She asked both of them.

"What a freak." Camila heard one of the students say whisper to her friends. Having vampire hearing, she was able to hear the comment and by the look of Skylar's face, she heard it too.

"Let'a just go." Her daughter shook her head, exciting the building with her mother and brother close behind.

"You're back from school early." Dinah joked and Normani smacked her on the back of her head.

"Ouch woman."

Normani and Camila had made up after their fallout. Normani apologising up until this day for putting the twins in danger and Camila apologising for being a shitty friend.

"Let's go." Normani hissed at her girlfriend, dragging the vampire out the farm house.

"Now, would you like to explain to me why I was called in because you punched about her kid?" Camila turned to her daughter, arms crossed with a stern look on her face.

Camdyn stood next to his mother, a look of worry on his face as she waited for his sister's explain.

"I don't wanna talk about it." She grumbled and tried to walk past Camila, but the heretic blocked her path.

"No we are going to talk about this now." She was tired of Skylar's reckless behaviour, it had to come to an end.

The young brunette glared at her mother, her jaw clenched as she tightened her fist.

"I don't want to talk about it." Camila stared at the little girl that resembled Lauren a lot. She narrowed her eyes just like her mother and didn't break her eye contact just like Lauren would. God, she missed Lauren.

"If this is about your mom-"

"You want to know why I punched that stupid boy in the face! He came up to me, shoved me back and proceeded to call me a freak show." Skylar's voice was filled with rage, but it trembled a little.

"But that wasn't what got to me. He looked me in my eyes and told me that my mom is a monster. That's she's a ruthless killer that everyone hates and she'll never be able to love me. And I believed him for a second. Mom has been gone for four years and never called once to ask me how I've been. Still I couldn't let some pathetic boy like Brad talk about my mom like that so I broke his nose and I'll gladly do it again." Skylar's lip quivered as she spoke, hot angry tears pooling in her eyes.

"What he said was awful Sky, but how you reacted was-"

"Oh shut up Camdyn. I'm sorry I'm not as perfect as you and the favourite child." Skylar spat at her brother and her rage was definitely starting to show now.

Camila glanced at the glass mugs that softly began to rattle on the shelves.

"Look at me baby, it's okay. I understand the hurt you're feeling right now, but just know that your mom cares about you a lot and will do anything for the both of you. The same goes for me, I'll do anything for my children and I love you both equally."

Skylar shook her head, the whispers in her head getting louder and she couldn't concentrate.

"Stop talking." She demanded, fisting her hair and tried to make the voices stop.

"Sky..." Camdyn trailed off.

"I said stop talking!" She yelled, power leaving her body which sent her mom and brother flying across the floor.

Camila hit her head on the edge of the table, splitting her skin on her forehead.

"I'm sorry." Skylar immediately apologised.

"It'll heal. It's okay baby, but I need you for breathe for me." Camila got up, slowly approaching her daughter.

"The voices won't stop mama." Her daughter whimpered and Camila felt her own heart break.

"I'll help you. I'll find a way to fix it." Camila reassured her, reaching out to wrap her arms around her daughter but she jumped back.

The contact sent a surge of pain through her body. The only type of pain you'd feel from dark magic.

"Mama." Camdyn called, staring at red angry veins that was spread across his left arm.

Skylar also gasped, seeing the same veins, splayed across her neck as she looked into the mirror.

"What's happening to us?!"
