Selfish (Camren)

Part 18

Camila whimpered in her sleep. Sweat drenched her face and her head shook from side to side. Raven sat by her side, along with Dinah. Lauren was scouring the town for the best witches to see if they could help Camila.

Camila's aunt tired to help, but she didn't know what was wrong. She left to get some more medicine and herbs for spells.

"She heating up." The older vampire held a damp clothing over Camila's forehead. Dinah sat at the end of the bed feeling helpless.

Then Normani barged in the room. She heard the news about her best friend and immediately rushed to her side.

"What's happened? What's wrong with her?" The alpha frantically asked, her hands shaking.

"We don't know she collapsed." Raven sighed.

"How do you not know?! I knew this was going to happen. I knew something bad was going to happen if she stayed around you guys." Normani growled, her eyes turning gold. The alpha's rage began to consume her and she launched at Raven.

Dinah quickly intervened, pulling Normani away from Raven, but the alpha twisted her arm the wrong way in the process.. "That hurt like a bitch." Dinah hissed at her throbbing arm.

The alpha's eyes changed back to its original colour when she released she hurt Dinah. "Oh my word I didn't mean for that-"

"Relax, I'll heal in a matter of seconds" The vampire assured the wolf.

"Come, lets go for a walk. Raven will be by Camila's side and Lauren is out there looking for someone to help her."

Normani agreed leaving Raven to look after Camila by herself.

"Shh." Raven tried to sooth Camila's pain when she let out little cries in her sleep.

"Don't hurt me." Camila mumbled, her brows furrowing. "Stop." Camila's voice began to get a little louder and Raven tried to calm her down.

"I said stop! Let go of me!" Camila yelled in her sleep.

"Camila, it's okay I'm here." Raven said, hoping that the witch could hear her, she placed her hand on Camila's head trying to invade her mind to calm her down.

The brunette's body began to shake and thrash. Panic struck through Raven and she took a step back, but seconds later Camila's body stopped moving and everything became quite.

The vampire took a step forward, trying to listen for Camila's breathing, but she heard nothing.

The siphoner's eyes shot open, startling the old vampire.

"Lucy!" Camila screamed as she sat up. Her breathing was erratic and Raven scrambled to her side.

"Camila look at me." She turned Camila's head, wanting for her to focus her eyes on her.

"It's just me. It's Raven." The vampire gently told her, helping Camila's breathing to ease at the information.

The witch blinked rapidly, her mind coming back to reality. Tears began to pour from her eyes and Raven cupped her face, trying to catch her tears.

"I died Raven." Camila whimpered, the images of her soul leaving her body imprinted in her mind.

"She-this girl, I-"

"Hey, slowly. What girl?" Raven ran her thumb over Camila's cheeks.

"Lucy. She killed me." Camila cried, burying her head in the vampire's neck.

Raven didn't know what to feel. She hadn't heard that name in so long and it sent chills down her spine. "Shh it's okay. It was only a dream."
