The end

Lauren stared numbly at the painting she painted for Camila sixteen years ago. It's been three days since Camila's passing and she'd never felt pain like this since the time her entire family died.

But this time it was different, this time it hurt a little more because she could've prevented it from happening. She wasn't there and she blamed herself for Camila's death.

The anger, guilt and sadness she felt build up everyday. Her children lost their mother because of her.

Lauren growled and she took the painting into her hands, ripping the canvas in two. Hot tears leaked from her eyes and she fell down to the floor, burying her head in her hands.

"Lauren?"

The tribrid shot up, wiping away the evidence that showed that she was crying. "Yeah?" She weakly responded, not looking the werewolf in her eye.

Normani stared at Lauren with sad eyes. She'd never seen the tribrid this emotional and her heart ached for her. She lost the love of her life and her kids lost their mother. She secretly wished that she was the one who died instead of Camila. She wished the knife actually pierced her heart instead of grazing it.

"Cam isn't doing well."

Her posture immediately changed and Lauren rushed out her room, towards the twins bedroom.

"It hurts." Camdyn's skin glistened from sweat and he clutched his blanket in pain. "The whispers in my head are becoming unbearable mom." He whimpered and Lauren crouched by his bed side, helplessly watching her son suffer.

She glanced over at Skylar who sat silently by the window. She hadn't said much since the day Camila died and kept to herself. Lauren knew that she was also suffering from unbearable pain.

Lauren got up, making her way over to Normani who said silently in the doorway.

"Is it a full moon tonight?" The tribrid asked.

"Yeah."

"The twins are going to turn tonight and I'm not so sure that they'll survive it." Lauren ran her fingers through her hair, trying to come up with a plan to avoid death creeping at her children's door.

"What are we gonna do?"

" 'We' are doing nothing. You're forgetting that you also shift tonight. I'll come up with something."

"You can't do this on your own Lauren. Do you want me to get Dinah or Rav-"

"No." Lauren cut Normani off before she could finish her sentence and the alpha gave her a knowing look.

"You haven't spoken to her since that day. I understand that you're angry and upset, but imagine what she's going through right now. She had to take someone's life. You and I both know how much she loved Camila."

Lauren jaw clenched tightly at Normani's words, because she knew it was true. However Lauren was still upset and she couldn't face Raven yet.

"Just tell Dinah to meet me at the twin's high school tonight."

"Why are you going there?"

"To make things right."

Normani accepted Lauren's final words and went on her way.

"Are we really going to die tonight, mom?" Skylar's voice interrupted Lauren's thoughts.

"No, love. I have a plan."
