Part 16

Colton ventured through town, on his way to meet someone. Humans stopped and greeted him, along with his fellow vampires. He was quite popular in New Orleans, but people like the witches despised him and the werewolves were cautious around him.

He knocked on the apartment door when he reached his destination.

The door swung open and Camila's warm smile turned upside down. "If you're here to kill me for using magic, just know that I won't go down without a fight." The witch warned.

The vampire held his hands up in surrender, saying that he just wanted to talk.

"May I come in?" He asked and the brunette stepped aside, allowing the blue eyed man into her apartment.

"What are you using magic for?"

"For personal reasons." Camila gave a short answer, not really trusting the vampire in front of her.

He nodded, his mind wondering to other questions. "What are you doing hanging around Lauren Jauregui?" His tone changed, anger and worry laced it.

"Who I hang around with isn't any of your business, Colton." Camila crossed her arms in defence, but hearing that name made her want to scream.

"She's not someone you want to be with and-"

"And what? You're the person I should be with? You lost that chance Colton, not when you broke up with me, but when you turned against me and my kind." Camila snapped and the vampire lowered his eyes in shame.

"I trusted you and you used that against me." The witch told him with a shaking voice, but she refused to cry. "You know I never meant to hurt you, I love you." Colton revealed.

Camila shook her head. "You don't love me, if you did, you'd never have done this to my people."

Colton clenched his jaw, he knew what the witch said was true, he really did love her,but he also had to protect his people.

"Looks like you're doing some real hardcore spells." Colton changed the topic, glancing of the books and ingredients the spilled over Camila's living room table.

"Desperate times." The witch shrugged.

"Look if you need anything, you know where to find me." The vampire finalised, making his way to exit her apartment.

"Why did you kidnap me that night?" Camila asked.

"Your cousin wanted to see you." Colton said, causing the witch's eyes to widen.

"Why don't you just let him go?"

"He's gone Camila and he isn't coming back. He left town for good to figure himself out. " Colton explained.

The vampire turned to the door and stopped when he almost bumped into the person standing by the door.

"Is everything alright here?" Raven asked, her eyes never leaving the vampire's in front of her.

Camila assured Raven that Colton and her were just speaking.

The vampire took a step closer to Raven, not wanting Camila to hear what he was going to say. "If you or your family hurt her, I'll make you suffer for an eternity."

The stronger vampire only smiled at his words, bringing her lips close to his ears. "We all know that I could end you with just the snap of my fingers, so don't threaten me and I'd never hurt her.

Raven the stepped aside allowing him to step out first. "I know who you really are Raven, I just wonder what Camila would think if she ever find out." The vampire told her as he strolled past, her smile fading on her face from his words.
