Camila walked down the hall, her hands feeling hot and her heart rate increasing. She knocked on Raven's room door, waiting for her to answer.
The vampire opened the door, looking at Camila in surprised. "Is there something you need?"
"Can I talk to you?"
Raven stared at her for moment before allowing the girl inside. They both stood by each other in awkward silence, both trying to build the courage to say something first.
"I'm sorry." Camila apologised, she couldn't look Raven in the eyes.
"You have nothing to be sorry for." The vampire smiled, but Camila could see through the mask she put up.
"No I do. I was with you, stringing you along while I was in love with someone else." The witch confessed and Raven's heart stung at the words.
"The day you found me crying, was because of Lauren. She said some stupid things that made me upset and I lost control of myself. But then there you were, with your charming smile, cute little button nose and eyes that could see into anyone's soul. You were exactly what I needed Raven. Someone kind, sweet and caring. When you comforted and told me everything was going to be okay, I felt like it actually was. I so badly wanted it to be you Raven, I wanted to fall in love with honourable, charming sister that me feel happiness that I haven't felt in a long time. But we can't choose who we love and I'm sorry for that." Camila told her, watching a tear fall down Raven's cheek.
"She makes you happy?"
"Yes, she does. You did too"
"Then I'm happy." Raven truthfully said. Camila then went in for a hug, grasping the vampire tightly. "Don't give up on finding love Raven, you deserve it too." The vampire smiled, resting her chin on Camila's shoulder.
"I know this is a bad time to ask you this, but I need to know more about Lucy."Camila pulled back and Raven's hairs stood up on the back of her neck.
"Keep your voice down." Raven hissed, dragging Camila to the bathroom and turned on the shower, so that nobody else could hear their conversation.
"There's nothing to say about her." Raven said but Camila could tell she was lying. "Please I need to know who she is, the dream I had of her felt too real. I felt her."
"Fine, the first thing you need to know that there weren't just three next generation vampires, there were four of us." The vampire sighed
Flashback
It was the year 1814. Raven, Dinah and Lauren sat in a small cottage, in a native village. Raven and Dinah were playing a game with each other while Lauren was doing what she always did, painting.
"I think it's time that we find another location to settle in, we've been here for too long." Raven told the hybrid.
"Yes, yes we will soon. She's enjoying it here."
"We can't simply just stay here because she likes it." Raven scowled and Lauren turned to her, grabbing her by her shirt.
"We. Are. Staying." The hybrid growled and Raven shoved her back and straightened her attire.
"I'm home." A voice echoed and Lauren's frown turned into a smile.
"Lucy where have you- What have you done?" Lauren asked as she stared at the girl in front of her that was drenched in blood.
"I got hungry." Lucy pouted.
"You see, she can't control herself and now he probably knows where we are." Raven scoffed at the reckless girl.
"Want a taste Dinah." Lucy offered her a cup full of blood. The blonde was about to take it but Raven smacked it out of her hands. "We only drink animal blood."
"So uptight. How about you, my love?" Lucy grinned, holding the cup to Lauren's lips. The hybrid took the cup, downing everything in it.
"So much better than animal blood." Lauren smiled, pulling Lucy in for a kiss.
"Lucy and Lauren were together?" Camila said trying to comprehend the newfound information.
"Yes, I never approved of their relationship. They were toxic."
"What happened to her?"
"Lucy was Benjamin's wife back then, but he wasn't very kind to her. After Lauren killed Benjamin's father to avenge her family, she went after Benjamin. In the process of her plans to kill Benjamin she met Lucy, the sweet innocent girl that stole her heart. Instead of killing Benjamin, Lauren fled with Lucy who was only human at the time. Benjamin was heartbroken when his wife left him for Lauren. But soon his heartbreak only fuelled the anger he already felt for Lauren. Then as history went on, we all were made into the next generation vampires and Benjamin was hunting us down. What we didn't know was that Benjamin had been meeting with powerful witches all around the world, convincing all of them to make him like us and in return he'd kill all of us. The witches decided to do as he asked and made him into a strong vampire that was almost as immortal as us. Although he wasn't made to be stronger that us, he's much older than us, which added to his strength. One day he found us in a small village and killed everyone around him. He almost killed Dinah, but Lauren and Lucy saved her. In that process he managed to grabbed Lucy, piercing the redwood stake into her heart. Lauren wanted to go back and fight him but I snapped her neck and pulled her away. Lauren resented me for years, blaming me for Lucy's death. Darkness took over her and she started killing people again. Lucy's favourite things about Lauren was her incredible ability to paint and her magic. Lucy absolutely loved Lauren's witch side, and Lauren performed all types of tricks and spells for her. That's why she stopped doing both up until this day."
Camila took some time digesting the story. She couldn't wrap her head around any of this. "Why didn't any of you tell me this?"
"Because Lauren, made us promise to never speak Lucy's name again and she wanted to keep her witch side a secret. She didn't want Benjamin to find us again and she didn't want to give people more reasons to hate her." Raven's body felt a bit lighter letting all that off her chest. She's carried the guilt of Lucy's death for years and she'll never forgive herself for that.
She betrayed Lauren and their code 'forever and always'.
"Thank you for being honest with me."
"You deserved to know since you're part of the family now." The vampire shrugged and Camila's eyes twinkled at the words.
"Since you've been so honest with me, I have to tell you something too." The witch nervously bit her lip. She's been avoiding this for many years, but knowing that it's soon going to become a reality, she thinks that it's right to tell them now.
"I might die tomorrow."
