Selfish (Camren)

Part 24

The church was silent. The sounds of the mice and birds rattling around in the roof could be heard.

Camila body was still, with red liquid around  her seeping only the wooden floors. If you were looking down at her you'd think she's dead by the amount of blood she had lost. You'd miss the small twitch in her fingers and the way her heart slowly started pumping back to life.

Her eyes shifted under her lids and colour returned to her face. Just as enough blood was pumped back into her system, her eyes shot open and she inhaled deeply, filling her lungs with the air it needed.

Dinah's body finally regenerated herself and she groaned at the feeling of the large object that protruded out her chest. She carefully pulled out the wooden stake, not wanting to bring anymore harm to her already sore body.

"Fucking hell." The vampire sighed in relief and threw the offensive wood to the floor.

"Everyone's gone." Raven said, coming out from one of the rooms in the church. She was worried at the fact, that both Lauren and Camila were gone.

"Do you think it happened..." Dinah trailed off, referring to the merge and Raven shook her head. She didn't want to think about the fact that Camila could be dead right now.

The two vampires left the building, in search for both Camila and Lauren.

The town was quiet, because everyone was grieving the deaths of the people that lost due to Lauren's reckless manner. The humans however were oblivious, carrying on with their lives while the witches, werewolves and vampires all suffered from a loss.

"You're alive?" Raven was surprised to see Colton ordering his vampires around at the compound and the bite wound on his arm was completely gone.

"Lauren stopped by earlier and gave me some of her blood." He explained and one of his guys ran up to him, telling him that they found four dead humans at the warehouse.

"I know that Lauren's grieving, but can you please her to not take her anger out on the locals. We don't need the police sniffing around town." Colton sighed and told his guys to bury the bodies and make sure that they didn't get found.

Dinah and Raven assumed that Lauren would be back at the farm house and they guessed right.

The tribrid sat on the steps of the porch, her head hung low in between her hands. "Lauren?" Dinah said softly when they approached her. Raven had her guard up, wanting to be ready if Lauren decided to attack. She didn't know if her humanity was still turned off or not.

"I couldn't save them." Lauren lifted her head, looking at the two vampires with tear stained cheeks and puffy eyes. Raven and Dinah's heart dropped at Lauren's words.

"Do you mean-"

"Camila dead, the baby's dead."Raven felt her chest tighten. She couldn't save Camila either.

"Did her sister beat her in the merge?" Dinah whispered another question.

"Lucy killed her." Lauren let out a small angry chuckle. She should've ripped out the blood suckers heart when she had the chance.

"This is your fault." Raven snapped, staring at the tribrid. Lauren let out a growl and stood up.

"I did everything I could to save her!" Lauren came face to face with the vampire, but Raven never faltered.

Dinah on the other hand sighed, taking a seat because she knew that this was about to get ugly.

"So you think that killing everyone in your sight was going to save her! All you did was make things worse." Raven shoved her back and it took everything in Lauren not to throw Raven off of the earth.
