Selfish (Camren)

Part 29

"Lauren." Camila whimpered, and she immediately felt a warm hand caress her ice cold palm.

"Yes, love?" Lauren's voice never sounded so small, so worried.

Camila clenched her fists in pain at the contractions that she felt in her stomach. The sweat made her pale face glisten and her hair damp.

Raven stood on the other side of the hospital bed, her face was also written with concern and Dinah clung to the vampires side, tears running down her cheeks.

Normani sat outside the room, her head in her hands, feeling nothing but guilt.

"No matter what happens, you'll do everything you can to save the babies first." Camila's voice trembled and doctors checked her monitors and the blood bag that was pumping blood into the vampire's veins.

When Lauren's grandma casted a spell on Camila, it somehow sped up her pregnancy, putting her into labour.

She got two witches that she knew very well and got them to fly from Italy to help with the birth of her babies. They informed Lauren that the babies, were draining magic from Camila as well as her blood to stay alive. They also informed Lauren that Camila had a low chance of surviving the birth, but they might be able to save the babies.

The tribrid shook her head at Camila's request. She couldn't let this girl die. Camila was literally her light that her own dark heart needed. She never felt this strongly for anyone. It was raw and pure love that she hadn't felt in a long time and wasn't ready to let that go.

"I can't Camila, I can't lose you." Lauren sniffed, gripping tightly onto the vampire's hand as if she might slip out her grasp.

The hybrid hissed in agony. The amount of magic that was being drained from her body was hurting her and she didn't know if she could take it anymore.

"I know it's hard Lauren but I won't be able to live with myself if my babies die." Camila gritted through her teeth and the doctors got in between her legs, checking if she was ready to give birth.

"I don't know if I can live without you." Lauren chocked on her tears and Camila looked up at her giving, her a weak smile.

"I won't ever leave you, I'll always be right here." She slowly lifted her hand, placing it right over Lauren's heart.

The green eyed girl leaned down, placing a passionate but soft kiss on her lips. "I love you." Lauren declared softly.

Camila's heart rate sped up after Lauren's confession and the monitors went crazy.

She scrunched her brows in pain and let out an ear deafening scream. The doctor and nurses immediately rushed to the cry, telling Lauren to step back and asking Dinah and Raven to leave the room as the prepared for the birth of the twins.

"Alright mam, I'm going to need you to push." The doctor instructed as he situations himself between her legs.

Camila gave a hard push, crying in agony at the immense pain she felt. The nurses encouraged her to carry on and she felt like she was going to pass out.

"Her vitals are going up." One of the nurses informed the doctor.

"Just one more push and that first child will be here." He explained and Camila gave one last push, her body feeling like it's been drained dry to the bone.

Her eyes felt droopy and her breathing slowed down. She could only hear the hard thumps of her own heartbeat until she heard a cry.

"It's a girl." The doctor handed the first child to one of the nurses to clean her off.
