Selfish (Camren)

Part 26

"Do they know about the baby?" Lauren was worried that the town would try and kill Camila and the baby like they did with her mother when they found out she was pregnant.

Colton glanced at Lauren's worried state, never actually seeing her this genuinely concerned for someone that wasn't herself, Dinah or Raven.

They took the next turn towards the compound where the large crowd gathered. "From what I know and what my guys know, the people don't know about the miracle baby."

"Lauren, wait!" Camila yelled after them, using her vampire speed to approach them quicker.

"I told you to say at the farm house!" The tribrid exclaimed, when the pregnant vampire came up to them. Raven was also behind Camila, standing a couple of feet away.

"I want to explain things to the town. I want them to know that I'm not a danger to anyone." The vampire told Lauren, but all Lauren could think about was getting Camila out of danger.

"Listen, I understand where you're coming from, but right now isn't a good time for that. I'd like you and the baby to still be alive."

One of the people from the crowd spotted Camila and directed everyone towards them.

Upon hearing the screams and cries of the people, Lauren pushed Camila behind her. Raven also took a couple of steps closer, but still leaving a good distance between them.

"There's the half breed!"

"Freak of nature!"

"The dangerous new hybrid!"

Camila immediately coward when she heard the words that the people used to describe her.

"Take a step closer and you all die." Lauren warned at the crowd stopped, but never stopped shouting and screaming.

"That abomination needs to leave our town or be killed!" The crowd cheered along in agreement and Lauren get sense Camila's worry.

Colton even tried to calm the people down, but nobody listened to him. Even his vampires joined the people, wanting Camila killed.

"Why don't you all calm down and we can talk about this like civil people?" Lauren was trying her very best not kill all these idiots right now, but they were making in very hard for her.

"I say we kill her now!" One of the men screamed and he stepped forward, charging towards Camila.

It all happened so quick, Lauren couldn't even react and Raven made her way over, pulling the man's heart out before he could reach Camila.

Everyone went silent and the vampire let the heart slip out of her hands, onto the ground. She pulled out a thin cloth from her pocket, wiping her hands clean.

"Is there anyone else that would like to act irrationally?" She asked calmly and the people murmured, never stepping another foot forward.

Raven then stepped aside, gesturing for Lauren to continue talking. "I assure you that Camila isn't a threat." Lauren told them

"She's not the only one we have to worry about. It's you!" They fired back and Lauren sighed when they began to get rowdy again.

"Camila and Lauren need to leave this town." Normani's voice surprised everyone. She first told her wolves that she'd not be attending the rally, but after thinking it through, she thought otherwise.

"Mani?" Camila said confused. The werewolf was her best friend and they've been through so much together and now she's want her gone?

"Lauren Jauregui has brought nothing, but pain and terror ever since she got here. Yes we had our own issues, but she just made them ten time worse." Normani stepped forward facing the crowd.
