Backstory: Peter is the son of Loki Odinson and he doesn’t know about his Jotun form, and he has a heart for singing.

I can hear you but I won't
Some look for trouble while others don't

Peter has always known that he’s different. It’s something that he’s known since he’s been born. The other children on Asgard aren’t like him. He doesn’t feel like he’s like them, in fact, none of them like him and want to be his friend. His only friend is Thor, who Loki instructs to call him Uncle at all times.

Peter knows something is more wrong with him when he asked for Odin to tell him a bedtime story and he told him to scamper off. It was Frigga who found him crying in the corner of Loki’s room and read to him two stories, to make up for her husband’s rudeness. She wore a sympathetic look, it wasn’t the boy’s fault he was what he was. It wasn’t his fault Odin was a dumb bitch boy with a shitload of secrets but here we were.

A twelve year old Peter felt something churn within him as blue light radiated from the palms of his hands. The light was like a calling, perhaps one of destiny. Peter didn’t know why, but this calling intrigued him, excited him actually. But to follow the dancing light could be a mistake that would backfire on him.

He let curiosity get the better of him and a smile curved his lips as he followed the light singing lowly,

There's a thousand reasons I should go about my day
And ignore your whispers which I wish would go away, oh
Whoa

You're not a voice, you're just a ringing in my ear
And if I heard you, which I don't, I'm spoken for I fear
Everyone I've ever loved is here within these walls

He didn’t want to get in trouble, but if he did, he could always rely on his Uncle Thor. He really shouldn’t go exploring, but the blue light captivated him. But on the other hand, he was content with his life. Not really, but he was extremely grateful for what he had. A small, forced part of him wanted the blue light to go away, because it was better to never know than to know under circumstances.

I'm sorry, secret siren, but I'm blocking out your calls
I've had my adventure, I don't need something new
I'm afraid of what I'm risking if I follow you

Peter heard the sound of footsteps and immediately returned back inside his room, afraid of getting in trouble. He’s had a few adventures, did he really want another? No. That was the logical side of him, reminding him of all the possible consequences. Yes. That was the louder, freer side. Peter longed to see what more rested into the unknown.

Curiosity killed the cat.

Well maybe the cat wasn’t careful enough. (channel ur inner loki loki jr)

That night, Peter couldn’t sleep. He lay restless as he tossed and turned, the little of his sleep consumed of dreams about the dancing blue light, and what more stretched beyond. Peter didn’t know why, but he felt that the aura as trying to tell him something, perhaps that the blue light was connected to him. He longed for it, and just like that, the light appeared dancing by the edge of his door, mimicking a following gesture. Peter breathed out,

What do you want? 'Cause you've been keeping me awake
Are you here to distract me so I make a big mistake?

But what if this was a trick? A trick bysome big scary monster who wanted to take him, knowing that his curiosity would get the better of him. What if this adventure would give him the ugly truth. Would it be better to live beautiful fantasies that were painted lies over mucked up, ugly truths?

Or are you someone out there who's a little bit like me?
Who knows deep down I'm not where I'm meant to be?

Or maybe, there were more people like him. People who knew that something wasn’t right between Odin and his Papa, and even him. More outcasts with implausible reasonings as to why they were outcasted in the first place. People who didn’t feel right in Asgard, as if they belonged somewhere else. His heart didn’t yearn for Asgard, it yearned for something more, something indescribable that no one could understand. Not even he could whenever he tried to explain to his Papa, to Loki what the “ill” feelings were.

Every day's a little harder as I feel your power grow
Don't you know there's part of me that longs to go

Peter refused to chase the light, grunting as he lolled onto the other side, but his heart rested discontentedly. He felt more childish as he couldn’t even make a simple decision. He didn’t want to annoy the readers, but he was twelve. And an overthinker. He was taught to dutifully inquire everything, but it came naturally to the boy.

Into the unknown?

Into the unknown

After two more days, Peter caves into the winning temptation. He needs to know, and he can’t wait any longer. What more truths are there that no one is telling him? He waits for the light, keeping a close eye on any peculiar aquamarine hue of energy, and a smirk curves up his thin lips when it does.

The light motions for him to follow, and this time Peter complies. And it’s never felt better.

Into the unknown

(Oh)

(Oh)

Whoa

Peter ran freely, inhaling a wave of exhilaration as adrenaline coursed through his veins and jut his arms out, letting the sweet, soft melody of his voice fill the empty, warming silence. He increases his pace as the light sharply turns left, and spurs himself forward. He’s so close, he can practically feel it. His lips curve as he whispers enthusiastically,

Are you out there?

Do you know me?

Can you feel me?

Can you show me?

There’s so many questions that lingers in his brain and he knows the light has the answers. He finds himself not caring that he’s in parts of the castle that he’s never been in, and quite frankly, he’s not even sure if he’s even allowed to be here. But he doesn’t care. Not when he can get answers about himself, about his Papa here. Maybe now everything will make sense!

The twelve year old wears determination as he forces himself to keep up with the light’s pace, as it’s turns become sharper and the closer it returns to its destination the faster it gets. Suddenly, the light has disappeared, but Peter knows it’s around somewhere.

Where are you going? Don't leave me alone

How do I follow you

Peter’s met with a giant, ivory-embedded door that only sparks more of the controversial intriguing and opens the door, a mood of secrecy washes over him. He glimpses his Papa and Odin talk, and he watches in slight fear as his Papa trembles, and he catches tears stain his peach skin. Odin is seething at his Papa, and hasn’t noticed Peter, which means that he’s safe where he’s hiding. And if he gets caught, he’ll say that he’s looking for Papa, or he’s playing with one of his imaginary friends, and Odin believes that Peter is not knowledgeable, and the youth intends to exert this to his advantage.
