Chapter 10-7
Her long dream ended; "Amy sat up in bed, and screamed his name:.......Ty"!!!

Amy & Wolverine stopped at the door of the carpet house. Amy had a look in her eye, a combination of anger, determination, and fear. Wolverine was just, well, Wolverine. He had no plan, no emotions really, fear was replaced with a typical wolverine attitude of: go in and bust a few heads. Wolverines typically never size up a situation like this; their deployment of 'Shock and Awe, aka overwhelming force, pretty much sets the tone for all involved. He reminded himself to be cognizant of Amy and not accidentally slam her against a wall.
Amy pulled out her parachute and per Wolverines instructions, draped it over the two of them. He would have preferred going in un- covered, but he knew Amy would pitch a fit that he be covered too. He could see in her eyes, that once she had a plan in her mind; there was no room for discussion. They stepped into a small, cramped vestibule type room, except there were no doors, besides the one they entered through. In front of them was a vertical wooden ladder, attached to the wall and rising about 25 feet straight up to a hatch type door in the ceiling. Amy looked at Wolverine, touched her bracket and started climbing up; Wolverine followed right behind. In a moment, Amy turned a handle and pushed the hinged door open.
She and Wolverine stepped into a room; it was Maggie's Diner. Soraya was mixing a milk shake, her back turned to them. Soraya!! Amy yelled with excitement. She had not seen her best friend for several years, since her and Ty's wedding. Soraya did not respond, so Amy started to walk over to the counter. Wolverine grabbed her arm and pulled her back. Let go!! Amy yelled at Wolverine. Can't you see it's Soraya, my best friend!! She's in my dream, I just need to hug her and say hi for a moment. What is your problem Wolverine!! Amy yelled.
Amy!! He snarled quietly at her. You need
to listen to me Amy!! Some of the memories I left here last time have returned to me. Amy!! He grabbed her hand, to get her attention. What do you want!! She yelled!!
Amy!! These rooms, there are more of them ahead, we're constructed from your memories to trick and trap you into an emotional showdown with these imaginary characters!! Your friend Soraya, she's not real Amy!! I'm sorry! We need to walk on through this place and get out the other side. Amy!! He pulled on her arm again. Listen Amy!! The carpet people want you to enter a room, only one, and they will trap you forever. You will never escape, and will be hostage in your dream for years. Now come on!! Let's go!! Whatever you do, don't engage anyone here with any emotions and please, please do not leave the pathway that leads out. Don't enter the rooms. Do you understand??!!! Amy looked at Wolverine. She was already entranced a little, he could see it in her eyes. Amy!! Where's your knife?! Tell me where it is!! She just stared at him and slowly moved her hand down into her front right pocket. Here she mumbled. Ok, don't loose it!! We may need it to get out!! Now come on!! Wolverine grabbed her hand and pulled her to the exit. They left Maggies through a side door and stepped into a long corridor. There was a door at the end on their left. It was partially open with a gentle breeze bringing them enchanted smells of sand, water, and simply.....beauty!! Blue curtains with yellow flowers on the door, danced in the breeze, beckoning them out. They peered out quickly and saw a huge ocean with waves, sunshine, seagulls and several sailing boats crisscrossing the waters. It's beautiful!! Amy said as she looked longingly at the hot dry sand. Let's go out there and get some sun!! Children were building sand castles; handsome young men supervised them. One looked up at Amy; their eyes met. He smiled at her, she gave him a slight feminine wave back. No!! Wolverine gently pushed her down the hall away from the window. She was beginning to worry him. Pull your parachute close and follow me!! Ahead there were 4 doors on the right and 6 on the left. Floorboards creaked as they walked. One lightbulb hung in the middle and tried to illuminate the hall. A small table, wood chair, and a telephone sat on the table. An old 500 type Bell System telephone, red, with a dirty dial that had entrapped skin and dirt particles from thousands of callers for thousands of years. A number was faintly visible on the center of the dial. The last two digits were too faded to read. Wolverine stopped at the first door, old flaking blue paint clung to the door and tried its best to be cheery, but failed. Amy could hear pans and plates clanging with laughter and talking from inside. She heard a woman say to a man:
Haha Pierre, elle va jamais dormir avec vous sentant comme anchois!!
