Jack & Lisa 💚Wendy drove the M1 down the same paths Ty & Bart took the Polaris, hours before. The tank had all the latest navigational gear, but this team chose to add an older form of technology into the mix. Tom stood with his torso sticking out of the forward hatch, and with a spotlight had Wendy follow the Polaris's tracks. Rudy compared their exact location to the GPS coordinates Clive had sent them, so far everything matched.
Wendy's dad took her out to practice driving when she was 15. Her father was an engineer at John Deere & owned a small farm. She drove down back country roads and farm roads for over a year with him before drivers training began at her High School. Her father was always the encourager, but secretly he cringed when she drove. He was on the phone with Wendy 2 years ago when she announced she passed Tank school. Part of that course was knowing how to drive the M1 on any surface, anywhere, anytime, in any conditions. Her father hung the phone up and said a prayer for her Sergeant.
Master Sergeant Rudy Garcia had never seen a better tank driver than Wendy. She drove that massive vehicle like it was a Corvette. She believed in being gracious to the engine, and letting the transmission do some of the engines work. She kept her eye on both engine and tranny temp gauges. She knew what 'red line' meant for an engine & she respected that.
She Velcro'd a small vase to the dash and always had a few fresh or fake flowers in front of her. Asked why; She felt it only proper to lay flowers at the graves of all the enemy tanks they destroyed in war games. She told Rudy; first I kick their ass, then shoot their balls off, then lay a flower on their grave.
Rudy wished he had never asked!!She had been taught as a young girl to always be polite!! Wendy had enough energy to tire a puppy out. She operated by lists, and wrote out formulas to all her life theory's. Everything she did had a reason, and was a tiny step in her life plan. Most everything lined up for her according to plan; ......except men.
There was only one thing she could control in the guys she dated; sometimes. Wendy was using that to implement a far reaching plan to gain more control over them. A daunting task.
She was 5' 5" tall, petite, very pretty, very feminine, very confident and most men were very afraid of her. Her chestnut blond hair was always in a pony tail, she was too pretty for make up, and the men she faced off with at the martial arts gym were usually left on the mat, groaning. Her parents insisted each of their 4 children attempt to master a discipline in martial arts. Wendy followed in her fathers footsteps and started Brazilian Jiu Jitsu lessons at age 9. Now, 23 years old she carried a black belt in Jiu Jitsu.
Among the men, Wendy Mann had the reputation of being a very nice, charming, and overwhelming young lady who could very easily hand any man in the unit.....his balls on a silver serving tray. When not working she liked making herself look as pretty as possible, but didn't believe in spending more than 30 minutes getting ready to go out. She liked dating guys who opened doors for her, held her hand firmly but gently. In return she always made certain she was easy on their eyes. She dressed for the male eye. The tops she wore left little to a man's imagination. Wendy thought of herself as a sports car, and expected the men she dated, to know how to drive one. She knew how to start a guys engine with simply a smile. She could shift thru all his gears in just seconds. She liked putting lotions on her men, she had a dozen different brands and types, all for different parts of the male body.
Wendy found macho men ridiculous and a dime a dozen, she was looking for a young man who was quiet, but competent, self assured and intelligent. She liked men who were physically strong, yet gentle, someone who could respect her mind and body. She had dated dozens of men, and turned them all out to pasture. Some of the nerds had potential but most could only bench press a potato.
