Lyndy & Jackson
Chapter 10-29 / Simone
By; mike HurleyTy crawled under the tree, his heart in his throat, and he felt it fitting he was on his knees. He owed Amy a huge apology.
It was dark; he turned on his cell phone flashlight and saw her sitting on the ground about 20 feet away. Amy looked at him with tear soaked eyes. He saw his crumpled copy of their wedding photo in her hands, tears had dropped on it, he saw some ink that bled onto her fingers. He took a deep breath, looked at her and in a nervous and emotionally tired voice said; Amy, I'm sorry!! I'm so incredibly sorry!!
Amy looked into his eyes and saw the depth of his heartache; in a quiet voice, she said; Ty I cannot believe you did this. She held up the crumpled mess of their photo and continued; Ty, this is my most favorite photo, it means the world to me Ty. It reminds me daily of how much I love you, it reminds me of our vows. Ty, my vow, was a solemn promise to you that I would always love you. Always Ty!! She was quiet for a moment and wiped away a tear. Ty felt even more awful now and wanted to comfort Amy, but had no idea how. She sat 20 feet away, but the distance between them was light years.
They looked at each other, Amy was nervous too; how's Henry doing?? She asked. He's good; he was awake and talking. He said.......Amy heard a little emotion in Ty's voice. .........Ty paused like he was deciding how to say something........ Henry said if he & his wife had a son, he would want him to be just like me. Amy smiled as a tear ran into her mouth.
That's so sweet Ty!! He's such a nice man!!
He's from London, Ontario right?? Yes. Ty replied. Amy opened the crumpled photo and set her finger on Ty & said; if someday we have a son, I wish he would grow up to be a man just like you Ty. She looked at him with a tear soaked smile. Ty was bewildered and confused at Amy's demeanor. He expected her to go ballistic on him.Amy I can't do this anymore!! It seems every time I turn around, I've done something stupid to hurt your feelings. You get angry with me; I don't know Amy, I can't handle much more of this. I'm sorry Amy for the photo and, my lack of emotional strength. I don't know anymore Amy; it seems often I'm just an idiot and I excel at hurting you. Amy saw the heartache in his eyes. She knew Ty loved her.
Ty!!!
Amy wiped a tear and crawled next to him.
Ty....... I'm sorry too!! I'm sorry about my emotions, I've been getting more sleep and I feel better. She slipped her hand into his and held up the photo. We're you nervous on our wedding day Ty?? Amy asked. Every emotion I had was all swirling in my mind that day Amy. Yes, I was nervous. But my strongest emotion that day was happiness. Amy I was beyond happy that you wanted to marry me. Do you remember the first time we met.......you were chewing me out about my driving and smoking. I looked up at you, and I was in love. You were so incredibly beautiful!! I was so broken, but I knew you would never want a guy like me. But you did!! You married me Amy!!When I watch you interact with Lyndy; you're so patient with her. You're a mom Amy!! You are the kind of mom I wish I had. I mean, if I had to choose a mom for Lyndy out of 100 women. I would choose you every time!! I watch how Lyndy gets so excited when you come home!! She is so excited to see you.........
Amy?? Yes Ty.....
Why aren't you more upset with me?? I mean I really hurt your feelings here. Aren't you going to blow up at me?? God knows I deserve it. Running off with the Fire Department and not even talking to you about it!!Amy reached out and took Ty's hand into hers, she spun his wedding ring around a few times and finally found the courage to say; Ty I can't get mad at you!! We've both made mistakes and hurt each other. I
They were both quiet for a moment; then Amy said; Tyler Borden, I will always love you!! Always, even past the end of time, honey!! Can you understand that Ty??
