Chapter 12

'Family'

Kingsley sank his fangs into one coyote & crushed another with the impact of his body. He had appeared out of nowhere, surprising the ever vigilant sub-pact who had stopped for a rest, after walking non-stop for 10 hours. They had finally arrived at Heartland; the smallest of the 5, a mere runt of a large litter born 2 years ago had crept close & spotted the barn, Ranch House and had even sniffed just a hint of Ty. They were here to find Ty and seek revenge. But the runt was dead, crushed when Kingsley leapt up to 12 feet and dropped like a rock.

He was alone for the first time. His companion, Kearney was home recovering from a coyote Ambush up at the Wilson Ranch. Kingsley was a protector, bred to guard sheep. That night he was protecting his family; who suddenly had changed to a large group of people who lived at Heartland. He and Kearney had fallen in love with the young couple who lived over the barn.

It was his love for Kearney, and Amy & Ty that brought him into this dangerous encounter, late at night, with only the moon as an escort. Kingsley was on his own, on a very similar mission as Canadian Military Scouts, who disappear into enemy territory for weeks or months. Their mission; to deliver an explosive message: 'think twice about threatening Canada'!!
Kingsley's message was; think twice about bringing harm to Heartland!!

He leapt up, spun around and tore open jugulars of another. But the remaining 2 were gone; Kingsley instantly set out following their scent. He was just a minute behind and smelled their disgusting body aroma. But Kingsley found every aspect of a coyote disgusting.

Within minutes, he dove into the sheep river, swam across with the power of 2 men and jumped up onto the opposite shore. He followed them with the tenacity of a Royal Australian Special Forces soldier. Or the sheer resolve of a Royal Canadian Sherman tank, advancing through the fields of Denmark, hunting the SS during WW2.

Kingsley was a giant of the Great Pyrenees breed. He lived to love and protect his family. Nothing could stop the fearless dog!! He found their scent again and ran up a 400 foot hill in seconds. One of the coyotes stopped and looked back. He saw the speed of the big white dog and whimpered. His paws were already sore from the long hike here.

They arrived home, .....to Heartland. Amy & Ty were all smiles when they saw the barn, and above......their loft!! Millie & Jim had dinner ready. The whole family was there, even Tim.

After a few hours of visiting, Ty & Amy said goodnight & went up to their loft. Lyndy was sound asleep from her busy day, they laid her into bed, and stood together watching their precious little girl sleep. Amy rubbed Ty's back and so enjoyed being in their little nest......

Ty pulled Amy close and kissed her. She knew Ty well, and had seen that look he gave her after after dinner. His stomach was full, but she knew he was hungry for her. Ty was a man. His eyes spoke volumes to her. She felt his tongue touching hers. Just the way he was holding her, confirmed what he needed. His hands were finding areas he liked. Ty was starving for her.

Ty, honey; I don't feel like it; I'm sorry!! It's just being home, I'm full of emotions. I.......I just need to switch gears Ty, you know I love you Ty!! I love you so much. She took his hand, and led him to the rocking chair. Amy heard his little groan, she rarely denied Ty what he needed, even when she was tired. Amy knew how important sex was for Ty. But she had needs too!! Amy turned and touched his chest; would you hold me and talk to me please?? I'm sorry Ty!! I just need to feel you close and hear your voice.

Ty smiled and took his wife's hand in his, then slipped a hand around her waist, and slowly danced with her in a very tiny spot of the loft, made that night just for them. She laughed and whispered 'you always know what I need Ty!! I love you so much'!!
