Lyndy & Jackson
Chapter 10-8 / 'A Piece of Cake'
By; mike hurleyIt was 4:30 am; Jack and Amy were standing in the hallway, discussing her desire to find Ty.
Grandpa!! I had a good long sleep, I had another vivid dream like the one years ago when my mum and Kindling took me back to Ty, after the bear attack. I feel rested and my mind is clear. Grandpa, I have been having nightmares for weeks that I couldn't find Ty in Mongolia. This was my first night without one. I haven't slept much until tonight, and I have been embarrassed to tell anyone about my nightmares, even Ty. Amy was quiet for a moment....... my emotions have been a train wreck. I think they were a big reason I blew up at Ty. I know I scared him Grandpa!! He had never seen me like that. I know Ty better than anyone; I know I hurt him, and he will worry I don't love him anymore. I can't have Ty going into a dangerous situation with those firemen, and be worried about our relationship!! I will never forgive myself if he gets injured because he wasn't 100% focused.
I saw Grandma Lyndy near the end of my dream. Grandpa, she told me the times you & her had fights and didn't resolve them, were the times you were injured on the circuit. Amy stopped talking and looked at Jack. Yes, that's right. Jack replied. You talked to Lyndy?? What, how did, what did she say Amy?? Jack was totally focused on Amy's answer. Lisa came to the bedroom door and asked if everything was ok. She had just woken up after hearing Jack & Amy talking.
Lisa, I'm sorry I woke you up. Said Amy. Jack turned to Lisa and explained Amy was thinking of going after Ty; and she had talked to Lyndy last night in a dream. Amy was just about to tell me of her talk with Lyndy. Amy looked puzzled, then said to Lisa; I'm sorry to bring this up about Grandma Lyndy, you know since you and Grandpa are..... Lisa stopped Amy & said it was ok, then explained to Amy her feelings. Amy, honey; for a long time now I have considered Lyndy a good friend, who I never knew. That sounds odd I know. But, Lyndy loved Jack, and now I love Jack. Lisa looked at her husband and continued. Jack is the wisest, kindest, most caring man I have ever known. I love your Grandfather Amy!! Lisa had a big smile and wrapped her arms around Jack. Amy, I believe I am in Lyndy's debt for all her love that she put into Jack, somehow the man he became m, and I fell in love with, is because of her. I wanted many of Lyndy's things left in our bedroom. Lisa shut her eyes for a moment, then said. This is hard to explain, but I just appreciate Lyndy so much, in a way I love her like she was a sister. Lisa smiled, dotted away a tear with a tissue, and could not talk anymore. Amy reached over and gave Lisa a big hug. I know my Grandma Lyndy would love and appreciate you very much Lisa!! I know I do!! Amy gave Lisa a kiss on the cheek, then said. Grandpa, I need to get Lyndy up, dressed and fed, she pointed to the open door of her old room. They could hear baby Lyndy fussing a bit. If it's ok, I'll run up to the loft and get her taken care of. Could you guys come up in a little while; I'll make us breakfast and could you visit with me and help me decide what to do with Ty. I'll tell you then about my dream and Grandma. Are you sure you want me there too?? Lisa asked Amy. Yes!! I'm very sure!! Amy replied with a smile. Ok, we will be up in a little while; and I'll bring the coffee. Jack replied.
Amy loved spending time with Lyndy. Ever since she told Ty, she was pregnant, and saw the 100% pure joy on his face, she had been excited too!! Amy enjoyed the distraction, it gave her mind a break to process the many thoughts about Ty she had been having. She changed Lyndy's diaper, fed her breakfast, then sat down to read her a story, since they had missed story time last night. Just after Amy got settled with Lyndy on her lap, with the book, Lyndy pointed to the staircase and said: Papa?? Amy tried to explain several times that her Papa was away for a few days helping some horses. Amy even grabbed Lyndy's three little stuffed ponies to join in storytime. Lyndy was having nothing of it. She kept pointing to the door and wanted her Papa; tears soon started flowing down her little cheeks. Amy dialed Ty's cell phone and let Lyndy listen to his greeting on speakerphone. Now Lyndy was getting mad!! She wanted her Papa now!! Amy missed Ty so much, she started crying too, just watching Lyndy cry. Next Amy went and brought their wedding photo over and set the frame in Lyndy's lap. She pointed to Ty and said; Lyndy here is your Papa!! He will be right here in the photo with us.
