Lyndy & Jackson
Chapter 10-26
By; mike HurleyShe kissed him, and he held her close. They rolled over, and Amy snuggled down into him, like a fawn snuggles into the grass. Ty felt warm, safe, and strong. His arms curled around her, like the wings of an Eagle, protecting his mate during a storm.
Ty was close to wrapping things up, he sat in the barn office, reviewing his to do list. His mind wandered for a couple minutes, he thought of Henry's surgery in the morning; he imagined he was rocking Lyndy to sleep, then his thoughts settled on Amy. Earlier she had been so adamant that Ty come up to their room as soon as possible. He felt fortunate to have a young wife who still wanted to get into his pants. Her behavior tonight reminded him of the first time they slept together, .........he awoke in the loft to find a naked Amy under the covers & touching him. Typical Amy; she made a plan to reinforce their relationship & sex was her solution. She had started birth control and had their first night together all planned out.
As Ty repacked his medical bag, he continued to remember their young relationship;........Amy had made a plan to surprise him. But, Ty never for a second took her for granted, thoughts of proposing to her flooded his mind daily.
Their recent breakup had devastated Ty, he came close to moving away, but in his own, unique way, Ty stayed and fought for Amy's heart. She was the best thing that ever happened to him. Both Amy & Ty struggled to find a way to strengthen & fortify their love. Amy chose sex as her solution, Ty was considering marriage. But, Ty worried that proposing to Amy now might scare her, plus he was in no position to support her financially, then there was always the chance that she might get pregnant. His gut doubted that Jack would give him permission to marry his grand daughter.
But like Amy, Ty knew they needed to strengthen their relationship. In his heart, Ty realized that if they had another big fight, it would be over for good. He would move back east and erase Amy from his mind. So, he searched for another solution.
Ty planned to move into Caleb's trailer and he needed to show Amy just how important she was to him. Long term he would become a vet, marry Amy, they would be partners and open a practice together. Live in town in a little apartment, and a few years later, start a family. In Ty's mind in all fit together perfectly. But the one piece of his plan, he could not take for granted, was Amy's heart........
Just hours before Amy would disrobe next to Ty's bed and give herself to him, he walked into the Millikan jewelry store on Front St. This was his 6th visit to the store; he had put a $100.00 deposit on a wedding band and ring. Every 2 weeks he dutifully visited the store to apply another $25.00. He had no idea how he could ever afford the $2200.00 price tag and still save for school, and pay Caleb for rent, plus gas, truck repairs & insurance, clothes, books, cell phone bill, groceries, beers with Caleb, birthday and Christmas presents, and most importantly; ........money to take Amy on dates.
There was no time for a second job. But Ty always remembered Marion Fleming, she showed up in his life at the very bleakest hour and threw him a lifeline. In Ty's heart, he knew it would all work out. Amy was called the Miracle Girl, so maybe some of that would rub off on him.
Ty was always embarrassed as he handed the cashier a pile of bills and dollar & 2 dollar coins, adding up to $25.00. Last week after buying a new battery and alternator for his GMC, he had no money left to make his payment, so he went without lunch all week, ate peanut butter & jelly for dinners, and told Caleb Friday night he didn't feel well, and skipped the usual guys night out. He opened his little coffee can labeled 'emergency money', and counted $89.00 dollars. He took out $3.00 to make his $25.00 ring payment. As usual, he asked to see the wedding ring again.
