Catherine POV
A few days before the last day of school
"Catherine?"
The principal brought me out of my dazed state, my head tilted to the side looking at him
"Ah Catherine I see you've already met your sponsor" he smiled
I sucked in breath
My sponsor?
I looked at Mr Monroe
This man in front of me was the reason I grew up without fatherly love, the reason why my mother felt insecure about her beauty
The reason we suffered everyday while he lived in luxury, the reason why my mom hadn't gotten herself another man
The reason why my mother wasn't happy
I was supposed to be happy that I met the person who paid my school fees on my mom's behalf, but I was disappointed
Never in my life did I expect it to be him
"This is Catherine Solo" the principal said "she's very hardworking your money really doesn't go to waste" he said smiling
"I'm glad" Mr Monroe showed his teeth
"I'll have to leave now, I have a quick meeting with the teachers" with that the principal left
I stood there watching the man that had the title 'biological father'
He was well dressed, a black armani suit with a white shirt and a black tie, nice polished black shoes, a golden watch
He had a picture in his hands,inspecting it my eyebrows drew together on reflex
A picture of me
Why did he have a picture of me
He saw I was looking at the photo and spoke
"The principal gave me the picture to see how you look since I wanted to meet you"
Right
"Oh"
"How was school this term?" He smiled
I didn't know what to feel now that I'd finally meet him, even though he hurt my mom I couldn't find it in me hate him
But that didn't mean I wanted to converse with him, I definitely wasn't ready for that. The only reason I was standing in front of him right now was because he was my sponsor
"It ...it was okay" I said
"Great ...I want to get to know you Catherine" he said his smile not faltering
"Okay" was all I could master
I wanted to leave, right away. I didn't want to get to know him, I wasn't interested in him but I couldn't be mean either
Mom never raised me like that
"Who do you stay with? Your parents orrr"
"He left me for someone else... He never knew I was pregnant then" I nodded "what is his name?" I asked
"Victor Monroe"
I remembered what mom told me, he probably didn't know I was his daughter and I planned on keeping it that way and probably leaving this school away from his money
He hurt mom and I wanted to do nothing with him
"I stay with my mother sir" I said monotonously
"Ah okay.. just alone? Where's your father?"
