Griffin's POV
"Welcome to San Diego."
"Thank you for another safe flight, Valente and Gio."
"You're welcome, Griffin. Have a great time in San Diego." They both looked at Sophia and then looked back at me with arched eyebrows, saying when am I going to marry her. Yeah, that's not happening anytime soon. We just started dating. One day at a time is the way to go.
"My friend, Niko is coming to pick us up and take us to the hotel. An SUV will be waiting there for us to cruise in around San Diego."
"That's great. Once we check-in, we need to find somewhere to eat because I am hungry."
"What are you in the mood for? My friend, Niko, has a Greek restaurant that's out of this world. The food there is the best Greek I have ever tasted. And, they are his family's recipes."
"Let's go there. I love Greek food."
"I see Niko's SUV, so we can make our way off the plane."
Niko did the same facial expression as my pilots. Like, seriously?
"Niko, thanks for picking us up. It's good to see you again."
"Good to see you too, buddy." He started clearing his throat.
"Sophia, the throat clearer is Niko. And, Niko, this is Sophia."
"It's nice to meet you, Niko."
"Sophia, it's a pleasure to meet you too. You don't seem insufferable at all like Griffin said."
Thanks a lot, Niko. Of course, he had to bring that up. I started waving my hands, signaling for him to be quiet. It didn't work. Thankfully Sophie wasn't mad.
"Insufferable you say? What else did Griff say?"
Okay, I will let that one slide. And, she knew it.
"Sophia, baby remember this is before I changed."
Niko linked his arm with Sophia's. "Sophia, he sure did. Oh, and mean for giving homework on the first day of school. He said you were hot but really annoying. But, a few weeks ago, he told me he loves you very much and made a huge mistake by judging you. He respects what you do and sees how it brings you joy."
Thank you, Niko.
"He did? Griffin Kelley, I love you too. Come over here, lover boy."
Like the obedient boyfriend I was, I walked over to Sophia. She wrapped her arms around my neck and jumped in my arms. "Thank you for respecting and caring about me."
We almost made-out standing on the airport's runway.
"Griffin and Sophia, let's get you to your hotel so you will have some privacy. Are you both hungry? Well, for food that is."
