Sophia's POV
The route Griffin drives to his grandparents' house is amazing! But I wish my nerves would calm down.
"Ireland has some very beautiful landscape. I know we have only been here a few days, but I love it."
"I'm glad you love it, Sophia."
"For our wedding, I want us to get married here."
"Are you sure, Sophia? That would mean a lot to me."
"I'm sure. Griffin, I have lived in Chicago for my whole life. I wanted to start my teaching career in Chicago, but eventually, I wanted to move away from there to experience life somewhere else. At one time, I wanted to live in London. My grandparents even bought me a beautiful home to entice me. I would even love to live here. Ireland is your home country. Our marriage is not just about you making me happy. It's also about me making you happy. Do you miss living here?"
"I do, so that's why I love visiting. But I also love Chicago. Okay, how about this - how long have you been teaching so far?"
"I have been teaching for two years so far."
"Hmm, okay. So, how about 5 years from now we revisit moving from Chicago?"
"That sounds like a plan. You're driving now, so I can't kiss you. Thank you."
"See, we make a great team. When my parents moved to America, we initially lived in New York but decided to move west. You are going to chuckle at this. My parents told me they bought a map, closed their eyes, and just pointed to Illinois. They then chose Chicago."
I sure chuckle. "A wedding is about the bride and the groom. It's a special day for both of us. Ireland would be special because it is your home country. We can have a party in Chicago before it gets cold."
"I can agree with that. Thank you, Sophia. Where have you always wanted to go? We can make that our honeymoon destination."
"I've never been to Paris or Venice, Italy."
"We can spend two weeks in Paris. Then, another two weeks in Venice. As far as a wedding - Friday evening or Saturday?"
"Ooh, a month-long honeymoon. I'm looking forward to that. Saturday, at sunset. As for a date, graduations are at the beginning of June, so how about the last Saturday of the month - June 29th, 2019?"
"That's great. I'll block that day. Nothing is going to interfere. June 29th, 2019 is going to be a great day. Sophia, I know my mom, your mom, and Mariah are going to help you, but I want you to hire a wedding coordinator too."
"Will you go with me to find one when we get home? And when do you want to move in?"
"Yes, I will go with you. How about February? I'll put my house up for sale."
