Chapter Twenty-One:
To say I was shocked would be an understatement. I just hadn't ever pegged either of them for swinging the other way. And sure they were only making out, but still. Completely unexpected.
Not wanting to seem like a pervert, I opted to get away from there, but wouldn't you know my luck, my cellphone rang. Mia's now annoying ring-tone. I pulled it out to shut it up and slipped it in my pocket, but I was caught. I looked up at the two boys, who were staring at me. I blushed furiously and muttered a not so quiet curse. Then, I did the only logical thing in a completely awkward situation, such as mine....I bolted.
When I say bolted, I mean, I hastily walked in my strappy high heels to the next window. Sighing, when I found the room empty, I tried the door as I heard the previous one being opened. I shoved it open and glanced back to see Gabriel looking at me. I went in and shut the door, locking it. I breathed a heavy sigh of relief, as my racing heart began to slow down a bit. I, then, made my way to the door and to my freedom.
Oh, how I would soon regret that thought.
I looked out at the empty hallway and quietly closed the door and then rushed towards the stairs, which awaited me far beyond the door that contained two of my male friends. I saw Caleb coming out of a room ahead of me and halted my steps, unknowingly, in front of the room where Gabriel was. I didn't have time to register anything as I was grabbed and yanked into the room by Jaxon. I heard Caleb yell for me and Gabriel slammed the door shut and locked it.
Jaxon pushed me up against the wall beside the door as Caleb began to bang on it. Jaxon leaned in and whispered to me.
"Tell him that you're fine. It was just Gabe and Mia trying to scare you." I repeated what he told me and Caleb said a hesitant okay and left.
"Now, about what you saw...." Jaxon began.
"I don't really care. It's none of my business what you two are doing. I've seen plenty of things that aren't my business, tonight alone. If I may go now..." I trailed off, looking between the two boys. Gabriel was coolly leaning against the locked door with his ankles crossed and his arms planted in front of his chest, also crossed. Jaxon's voice brought me back to him.
"I don't know, Gabe, what do you think? I think she saw too much and needs to be tortured," Jaxon glanced at his boy-toy and smirked at his own idea. I hadn't ever seen this side of Jaxon before. I guess it's true what they say: It's the quiet ones you should watch out for.
"Come on, Jax, we don't need to hurt her." Gabriel didn't like the idea one bit and I was glad for it because I was starting to get a little scared.
I had always thought of Jaxon as the cool and calculating type and I didn't want to find out how psychotic he could really be.
"Look, she's my friend and I thought you were her friend, too. It's no big deal. I'm sure she won't say anything about what she saw, right?" His question was directed at me and I quickly nodded as fear overtook me. I began to squirm underneath Jaxon's hold. He put his knee between my legs and lifted me up, as he pulled my hands up over my head. I really started to panic, then, but I couldn't get free. He was too strong.
He leaned in and put his face in the crook of my neck and breathed in deeply. My mind went haywire as I thought about what this guy had planned for me. I looked to Gabriel, who looked a lot less cool and was about to make his way over to us to hopefully help me out. But Jaxon spoke before he could stop him.
"I wouldn't try to take me on, Gabe. I'm a practiced martial artist." Jaxon looked adoringly at me, which I thought was odd.
"Please don't hurt her. She's my friend." Gabe resorted to pleading. Jaxon laughed haughtily.
