Chapter Forty-One:

"Okay, that's all for today! Thank you everybody."

I sighed at the announcement. It was nearing 5pm and I still had to get home, get showered and dressed. If I could figure out what I wanted to wear, of course. I headed home and showered a little longer than normal to get all the junk off of my face and out of my hair. I got out and went over to my closet in my towel. My cellphone started ringing and I ran over to pick it up.

"Hello?" I answered a bit breathless.

"Were you holding your breath waiting for me to call?" I rolled my eyes.

"No, Andrew, I'm getting ready for a date and I had to run to pick up the phone," I said as I walked over to my closet.

"Date? With who?" He asked, a little too curious.

"He's this college guy I met on Valentine's Day. You wouldn't know him." I looked through my dresses and didn't like anything I was seeing. Maybe it was just a casual date. Maybe I should call him and ask.

"I'm so telling the guys about this, they will flip. When's the date?"

"It's at.... seven. He's picking me up. Why?" I knew that he was up to no good, especially when he just said okay and hung up on me.

I was glad that I told him the wrong time, but maybe I should have told him later rather than earlier. I wouldn't put it past them to come and hang out until he showed up to pick me up. I called Conner.

"Hello?"

"Hey, I don't know what to wear." He laughed.

"Well, we're just going to this really cute diner that my friends and I came across. The owner said that his daughter came up with the theme for the place. It's called Greg's Diner." I smiled. "So you don't have to dress up. I'm sure you'll look good no matter what you wear."

"Okay, then. Also, just a warning, if you show up to the address I texted you, you might get bombarded by my friends. So, sorry in advance." I didn't know what Andrew was up to, but I wanted to give Conner fair warning.

"Oh, that's fine. Sounds fun, actually. I'll see you at eight."

"Okay, bye." I hung up with Conner and looked through my closet for more casual clothes. I picked a cute shirt that was low cut and said "I did't slap you, I high-fived you in the face" and some shorts because it was a warm Spring day, with some tan wedges.

I took my time with my makeup and hair.

My doorbell rang and my mother answered it. She knew all about my date and was excited to meet Conner.

"Raven, um, your friends are here." She seemed hesitant. I wonder what they were up to. I went down the stairs and met an awkward sight.

The boys were all in back. Each one of them were wearing black pants and a black muscle shirt showing off their muscular arms or lack there of, for a couple. I eyed them all with my arms crossed and a scowl on my face.

"What are you, hooligans, up to?"

Andrew smirked as he eyed my simple outfit. Jaxon seemed to be a bit distracted by legs and Reese was trying not to eye me because he had a girlfriend. They had roped the twins and Zane into the fold and I didn't see Henry anywhere in sight. That made me curious, but I wasn't going to get distracted from the matter at hand.

"Well, we came to assess your 'date'," explained Andrew, with air quotes when he said date.

"It isn't your job to assess my dates, guys. I'll be perfectly fine."
