Chapter Forty-Seven:
The guys had smuggled in small bottles of alcohol and were passing it around to everyone. I didn't mind drinking, but I wasn't planning on getting wasted. It was when dessert arrived that things started to take a turn for the sappy and romantic.
Ashton was the first to gain the courage. He'd asked me how he should do this and I had told him that he should do it at prom and down on one knee. It was what he did. He took Sara's hand and looked her deep in her eyes and got down on one knee.
"Sara, you're the best thing that has ever happened to me and I would love to wake up to your gorgeous face every day for the rest of my life. I'm not sure of what I want to do with the rest of my life but I hope that you'll be beside me while we figure it out together. I love you and I hope that you'll make me even happier by agreeing to marry this love struck goon," he told her. Such a sweet speech.
"You're not a goon, Ashton, but, yes, I will!" she said with a huge smile and they kissed.
He slipped a diamond ring on her finger and everyone applauded. Love confessions went all around the hall and the atmosphere was filled with awe.
Gabriel ended up proposing to his pregnant girlfriend, Kali, as well. It was quiet vomit-enducing as she tried to show off her huge rock. I wasn't quite there with the love confession, not with Marco, so we just watched it all in silence. Too bad that good things tend to come to an end.
Apparently we weren't the only ones who had been drinking the hooch because a tipsy Alicia made her drunken way over to where Mick stood while Tessa was on the dance floor with her friends. Alicia wasn't hard to miss with the dress that she wore and the way she swayed in her heels. The dress itself was a bright pink and only covered her feminine bits. Two big pieces were missing at her waist and there was a long slit up the front left side of her dress. The neckline dipped low to show her excessive cleavage.
I watching in shock as she threw herself onto Mick and started making out with him. I looked to Tessa to see her glance up in time to catch the aftermath of Alicia's sluttiness. Tessa didn't look up in time to see Alicia throwing herself onto her boyfriend, which resulted in a teary eyed Tessa taking off for the restrooms. Her friends were right behind her.
I looked back to Alicia and Mick as a girl in a cute babydoll dress walked up to them and pulled Alicia off of Mick. The girl with the short hair slapped Alicia and turned to walk away. I watched as Sam, tomboy Samantha, who Henry had brought to the table on Wednesday, walked away from her GIRLFRIEND in a huff.
"Guess Sam was a girl," Mia voiced my thoughts, next to me. I only nodded in response.
Our attention was pulled to the bickering Devlin and Reese. I wasn't sure what they were arguing about or even how long they had been doing so, but they were starting to get loud. Not this crap again.
"I mean it, Reese, how can you love someone when you're still hooked on your best friend," is the sentence that Devlin uttered that brought all of our conversations to a screeching halt.
"What makes you think I love someone else?" He asked, clearly not understanding what would make her think that she wasn't fully loved.
"I see the way you look at her," she told him. He furrowed his eyebrows in confusion.
"Look at who?" He dared to ask.
"Raven!" she almost screamed. Everyone looked at me. What the hell is going on?
"I don't love Raven, Devlin. I love you. I already told you that nothing's going on with us," Reese tried to reason.
"How can you not care about someone who's virginity you took?"
