Epilogue:
*SIX MONTHS LATER*
"Okay, we can take a break, love," said the man at the control panels. I smiled and took off the headset. I exited the sound booth and walked over to Tanya, who was holding out a bottle of water. I took it and chugged the delicious beverage.
"So, you just have a couple more songs to record and that will complete your very first album. With the way your single has done on it's own, I think your album will be an absolute hit," Tanya informed me. I smiled at her. It had only been about a month after I had signed with Zeke and M.Z. Records that I had finished my first very original song. It was a pop sensation and had done well among the teens. It was catchy and sweet. It was mostly about my triumphant return to high school after losing the weight.
"That's good. I hope it does well. Have you heard from Skylar?" I asked my manager. She shook her head with a frown. He had been AWOL for over 24 hours and I wasn't too happy about it. It was after I had sat him down to have a talk with him about his drinking and excessive partying. We sat in the apartment Zeke had gotten for me and me alone as I told him that I wasn't sure that I wanted to continue to be his girlfriend, if I was taking more of role as his mom.
It was only one of the reasons I had for breaking up with him. I had seen all the tabloids that had shots of him and me, along with photos taken of him and several other girls. One of those girls, who was laughing wildly in the picture happened to be Arabella Gaston. That girl was still trying to swoop in and take Skylar's time and affections. I thought about our last conversation only a day ago.

"What are you trying to say," he stupidly had asked.
"I'm saying that I'm not your mom and I don't even think you see me as your girlfriend. If you did then you would treat me like one. Where's the guy that I went on that lunch date with? I want him back. He was so sweet and easy-going. This...this monster you've become isn't someone I could spend another six months with. I can't do this anymore, Skylar." He stared at me dumbfounded until his rage took control of his actions.
"I can't believe this crap! I got you discovered and you wouldn't be here without me! This is how you thank me? By bitching about how I used to be so lame and nice to you. Arabella was right, you're just using me and you're so damn ungrateful." I tried to keep my calm.
"You're right. You brought me into this media-fueled hell. I was planning on become a doctor and saving lives. Instead I'm here singing to gain a paycheck, while you go off drinking and partying with girls hanging all over you in skimpy clothes and make you look like you're cheating on me. Making me look like the fool, the same fool that I never wanted to be again. I don't know why you wanted to be my boyfriend, if you aren't even halfway decent at being commited. You may have conned Zeke into hearing me sing, but don't think that it entitles you to have your cake and eat it too. I'm not going be your girlfriend while you're out sleeping around. We're through and you can go and have your precious Arabella. Call me ungrateful, but Zeke will back me up when he says that he heard me sing and he signed me. The rest is really all hearsay, seeing as I was in a music video with you. The same music video that Tanya got me to audition for, not you."
I had finished my rant and took deep breaths as he tried to think of something to say. Instead he got up and walked out of my apartment. I hadn't heard from him since. He wasn't at his place and I would bet good money that he was currently shacked up with the Arabella Gaston.
I hadn't told Tanya what had exactly happened that night, but I had told her that I'd broken up with him. She understood completely and knew exactly how self-involved Skylar could be. I had wasted six months on his stupid butt and I hadn't talked to any of my friends. Mia would call me at the busiest times and would leave a message for me with Tanya, but after an entire day of singing and some song writing, I was too bushed to even talk to anyone. I would just go home to my modernly furnished apartment and pass out.
