A Cayman Vacation

Chapter Twenty-Four:

My parents surprised us with tickets to the Grand Cayman Islands, when we got home after school. They told us that we were going to spend Christmas there and would come back in time for New Year's Eve. We were going to meet the twins' parents down there and so we had to start packing immediately.

I sent the boys a text telling them that I would be gone for Christmas, but I would definitely see them for New Year's Eve and then started to pack as I waited for them to text back.

Man, those boys are a riot. I was packing and Ashton came in to sit on my bed.

"You're already packed?" I asked, not looking up.

"Yeah. My parents told us a week ago," he said and I wasn't surprised. My parents were always last minute type people. "Hey, I talked to Alex about what he did. Has he talked to you?" I thought about it. I hadn't even really seen him much since that infamous party months ago, which was funny since we were right down the hall from each other.

"No, he hasn't. I was too busy focusing on Mia...." I took a deep breath, before I could continue, "to notice that he hadn't been talking to me. I just have a lot on my plate to worry about his moodiness. I still have to find a good song for the talent show."

"Oh well. Maybe this vacation will be good for you two." I shrugged.

"I wouldn't get your hopes up. He seems pretty serious with Valerie or was it Vanessa? I heard him on the phone with someone earlier," I said absently. Ashton shrugged and left my room.

Well, that was weird. I shook my head, my New Year's Resolution was going to be to avoid boy drama at all costs. If I met a boy before the new year, then I would have my fling and leave it. I was looking forward to my first real vacation in a long time.
