Chapter Sixteen:

It was the day of the dance and I was running late. I had to do extra work at school and got home to finish my homework, but I was behind about an hour. I was excited about getting on my cool wings. My mom made sure to make them super sturdy because of all the travel they would be doing since they were too big to be worn in the car. I was planning on going with Mia and Gabe.

I jumped in the shower and made sure to wash my hair thoroughly. I had changed my mind and was planning to let my slightly wavy hair take on more of a wave with some hopeful coaxing. It took about forty-five minutes for me to get showered and do my hair just right. I put on the necessary accessories and the lacy white lingerie. I went to go put on my dress that was laying in my room.

"Hey are you ready?" I nearly screamed at the person currently in my room. I looked over to see Alex leaning against my wall. I looked at him and anger surged inside me.

"Obviously not, Alexander. I'm going with Mia and Gabe anyway," I said coldly. We still weren't on good terms.

"They said that they were already on their way there about ten minutes ago and that I needed to take you." He was staring at my body and apparently pleased with what he saw. I ignored his stares as best as I could without blushing. He was still attractive, even though it pissed me off to think so.

"Oh well, I still have a lot to do. Go ahead. I'll just take my bike." I walked by him to get to my vanity, where I had set out the needed makeup and my mask, that Mia had given to me.

"You sure? We can wait," he said softly.

"The day I want you to wait for me, I'll let you know. Go on. I know you have a date to pick up," I said. He opened his mouth to probably ask how I knew that, but I cut him off. "You're officially the school playboy next to Andrew and word about you spreads like wildfire. Well, go on, don't want your date to think you're getting some before you give it to her."

I had heard plenty of rumors about Alexander since they had been attending school and now they mostly revolved around his sexual stamina or how dreamy he is. Girls would constantly come up to me asking me if the rumors were true. Why they would think that because I lived with him I would be having sex with him, I don't really know, but I would just tell them the truth; I have no idea about anything concerning his sex life. In fact, I hardly saw him anymore and it was kind of sad, but then the only time I saw him was on occassions like this where he would sneak into my room while I was in the shower. Apparently, it was no use trying to lock him out because he had found a way to unlock my door. Damn pervert.

He sighed bringing my attention back to him.

"Oh, is there something you need, Alexander?" I looked him in the face and surprisingly he kept my gaze.

"You only call me that when you're mad at me or introducing me to someone. What did I do?" He pleaded.

"You  didn't.... You know what, nothing. We just aren't the friends we used to be. You have your crowd of....well, hoochies and I have my friends," I said, putting on my makeup. I was already late as it is. "We travel in different circles and there's nothing wrong with that. Plus the fact that you can't seem to help, but sneak into my room all the time is kind of perverted. I just don't see us as two people who converse consistantly."

"Oh, well, I'm sorry about what I did to you, but you seem to be avoiding me any other time and if I sneak in here while you are in the shower you can't really do much about it." His playful tone was back and I just continued putting on my makeup. I couldn't believe he had apologized. I knew any moment know that his cell---
